    Tipp City is in Miami County, Ohio, located 10 miles north of Dayton and 15 miles west of Springfield. Its low cost of living and relaxed environment have made it an enticing option for retirees.     Climate & Geography

    Located in Southwest Ohio, Tipp City experiences four distinct seasons with warm, humid summers and freezing winters. 

    The Great Miami River makes up the eastern border of the city, which is also situated along the Miami Valley carved out by the river. The terrain surrounding the city is mostly rolling plains, with the suburban neighborhoods of Dayton to the south.  

    Recreation, Culture & Entertainment 

    There are plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities available for residents in Tipp City including City Park, Kyle Park, and 8 other neighborhood parks. Some of these greenspaces have various amenities such as pools, fields, picnic areas, and more. There are also two large nature preserves nearby with fascinating scenery and access to more outdoor recreation: Charleston Falls Preserve and Honey Creek Preserve. 

    In Tipp City's historic downtown area residents can find plenty of shopping outlets, restaurants, breweries, and antique shops. For more cultural attractions, Tipp City is only a 20-minute drive away from the larger city of Dayton which is home to many museums, art galleries, and historic landmarks. The Dayton International Airport is also just 15 minutes away for trips to more distant locations.

    The overall cost of living in Tipp City is less than the national average, which is primarily due to its affordable housing.

Retirees are also eligible to receive a tax credit of up to $200 on all other types of retirement income. Additionally, homeowners 65 and older qualify for a homestead exemption. The combined sales tax rate in Tipp City is 7 percent.

    While there are no hospitals in Tipp City, it is conveniently placed just outside of Dayton which is home to two hospitals that are nationally ranked by U.S News: Miami Valley Hospital and Dayton Children’s Hospital.
