For active adults who value privacy and safety, nothing less than a gated retirement community will do. The state of Pennsylvania is filled with them, and depending on which region you have your heart set on they offer different price points, suburban or more citified locales, and sought-after amenities. One way to narrow it down is to decide which (if any) city you want to be near; the largest are Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Allentown, with Reading, Bethlehem and Lancaster not far behind.
If you are looking at homes for sale in Pennsylvania, you will find new and resale condos, townhomes, and single-family homes available at different price points. We’ve located 41 gated 55+ communities in the state, and here are profiles on seven for you to look over.
