Golf course communities have a special appeal for active adults. After all, who wouldn’t want to live in a beautifully appointed home located in a serene setting, while enjoying a country club-style existence? This is why so many 55+ homebuyers are drawn to Renaissance at Manchester. This sprawling, well-established community of 1,904 single-family resale homes is attractively priced from the low $200s to the $300s and located in desirable Ocean County.

Amenities and Lifestyle

The shining stars of this community are its private, J. Christopher Cummins-designed 18-hole executive golf course and a state-of-the-art, 30,000 square-foot clubhouse. Residents look forward to working out at the club’s modern fitness center and swimming laps at the indoor pool. The clubhouse also has a ballroom, a woodworking shop, billiards and computer rooms, an on-site deli, and a peaceful library.

Outside, there is a popular outdoor pool, patio and spa, and an RV parking area. The property also houses four tennis courts, four bocce ball courts, three shuffleboard courts, plus pickleball, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, and lovely lakes and ponds.

In addition to all these leisurely amenities, Renaissance has over 40 clubs and groups, for sports aficionados, music lovers, foodies, artsy types, you name it. There are several exciting travel clubs, which are quite popular amongst the more adventurous residents.

Location

Manchester is in Ocean County and is close to some of the state’s most pristine beaches, including Long Beach Island, Lavalette, and Point Pleasant Beach. Nearby state parks include Brendan T. Byrne State Forest and Wharton State Forest, which offer year-round access for fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Avid golfers that want to try other courses can visit Bay Lea Golf Course in nearby Toms River, Pine Barrens Golf Club in Jackson, or one of the many other ones in the area.

Although Manchester is more of a rural area, it is very close to Routes 9 and 70, Highway 37, and the Garden State Parkway. The area is full of shopping outlets, terrific restaurants, and Hackensack Meridian Health Southern Ocean Medical Center is less than 30 minutes away.  Renaissance is also an easy drive to Toms River, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and New York.

Residences

The single-family homes here are sized from 1,522 to 2,256 square feet with open floor plans that come with one or two bedrooms, two bathrooms and one- or two-car garages.  Certain models have dens, which can be converted into third bedrooms. Some homes include large master bedrooms, carpeting, walk-in closets, eat-in kitchens, patios, and private backyards.
