Hunterdon County might just be the most picturesque place in all of New Jersey. Those who live here can walk or ride their bicycles down the Delaware River Canal Path, go trout fishing at Ken Lockwood Gorge, or try horseback riding along the Columbia Trail. Located in the northwestern part of NJ, this region is only an hour from Philadelphia and New York. Features include granite countertops, Whirlpool appliances, ten-foot ceilings, dens, and lofts. The monthly homeowners’ association (HOA) fee provides for snow removal and common area maintenance.

Plans are underway for a private clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness center, gathering areas, an outdoor pool, and a bocce ball court. Regency at Readington is just off Route 22, and it takes about five minutes to drive to the nearest grocery store. This road also has restaurants, banks, pharmacies, and other services as you drive to the west. Nearby entertainment options include Fleming House Museum, Hunterdon Art Museum, and Round Valley Recreation Area.

Legacy at ReadingtonReadington Township, NJ

Low $300s – Mid $300s

Less than a mile from Regency, Legacy at Readington is a more established community with 51 resale condos built from 2010 to 2014. It’s close to the same shopping, services, and attractions. If you drive east on Route 22, there are even more shopping centers as well as Raritan Valley Country Club and Bridgewater Commons Mall.

This 55+ complex has two buildings. The seven condo models range from 1,000 to 1,616 square feet with one to three bedrooms, one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half bathrooms, wood floors, gourmet kitchens, extra storage space, and one-car garages. The HOA fee covers common area and exterior maintenance.

For a smaller community, Regency has some nice amenities to keep homeowners active. There’s a fitness center, a media room, a game room, a gathering room, a catering kitchen, and a library. Outside, you can find a lovely community garden, a barbecue area, and a walking trail. There are also clubs for gardeners, movie fans, card players, and book lovers.

Four Seasons at ReadingtonReadington Township, NJ

High $300s – Low $400s

Also in Readington, this smaller retirement community offers 98 attached homes. Completed in 2002, Four Seasons at Readington offers low-maintenance homes, well-maintained landscaping, and a private clubhouse.

The floor plans offer two to three bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached garages. Most feature first-floor master suites, gourmet kitchens, and cathedral ceilings. The HOA fee covers trash and snow removal plus common area and exterior maintenance.

Also, this neighborhood is right outside of Round Valley State Park and just minutes from downtown Whitehouse Station. The closest hospital is Hunterdon Medical Pavilion, or you can drive further into New Brunswick to visit Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center or Saint Peter’s University Hospital.

Hunterdon CreeksideRaritan Township, NJ

Raritan Township is about 12 miles north of Readington and closer to highways 78 and 287. It’s home to Hunterdon Creekside, a gated 55+ community that will have 246 attached and single-family homes upon completion.

Once Hunterdon’s clubhouse is finished, residents will have access to a fitness center, activity and gathering rooms, an outdoor pool, and pickleball, bocce ball, and tennis courts. Nearby landmarks include the Premium Outlets at Liberty Village, Morales Nature Preserve, and Heron Run Golf Course.

Flemington Fields is our second Raritan Township active adult community, and it has 228 resale attached and single-family homes.
