Monmouth is a New Jersey coastal county and is considered part of the New York metro area. Major cities like Freehold, Asbury Park, Howell, and Middletown are some of its larger cities. It is also dotted with lovely parks like Allaire State Park, which includes historic Allaire Village and part of the Manasquan River.

Monmouth’s northern end borders Sandy Hook Bay, which merges into Lower Bay and goes into New York City. Getting to the Big Apple is easy via highway or ferry.

It is minutes from the Manasquan River, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Manasquan River Golf Club.

Homeowners who live at The Monmouth enjoy a country club lifestyle at the private clubhouse, with its indoor pool, sauna and spa, fitness center, and activity rooms. There is a second pool outside, plus a unique 18-hole putting course which makes its way throughout the neighborhood.

The spacious penthouse-style condos are 4,100 square feet, with three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, and underground two-car garages. Luxury features like sunrooms attached to the master bedrooms, his and hers master bathrooms, Viking appliances, and gas fireplaces make these condos comfortable and elegant.

Nobility Crest at Ocean – Ocean Township

Less than five miles from the shoreline, Nobility Crest at Ocean has 120 resale condo units built from 2006 to 2010 by Jerald Development Group. Its desirable location is also close to William F. Larkin Golf Course and a shopping center with a Shoprite, Marshalls, restaurants, and an urgent care center.

Most of Nobility Crest at Ocean’s impressive amenities are found within its 4,300 square-foot clubhouse, which houses a media room, an exercise room, and a library. During the warmer months, residents head out to the swimming pool, putting green, bocce courts, and shuffleboard courts. Popular community events like holiday parties, pool parties, food drives, and movie nights keep everyone connected.

The Essex and Sussex – Spring Lake

Covered Bridge – Manalapan

Farther inland than the other communities in this list, Covered Bridge is about 25 miles west of the Jersey coastline and just outside of Pine Brook Golf Course. This established and affordable 55+ neighborhood was built on 254 acres of farmland by K. Hovnanian from 1972 to 1982. The community consists of 1,557 resale condominiums and attached homes.

There are two condo associations here with two separate clubhouses. Each has its own fitness center, swimming pool, and tennis courts. Other perks include a performance theater, gathering rooms, a sauna, a driving range practice net, bocce, horseshoes, and a koi pond.

Covered Bridge residents like to keep busy, and there are clubs and events for every interest, including Zumba, meditation, holiday parties, movies, flea markets, bus trips, and much more.

Chelsea Square – Morganville

Located in the northern part of Monmouth County, Chelsea Square features new and resale condos built by Regal Homes. Upon completion, there will be 225 units with floor plans from 1,482 to 1,918 square feet with one to three bedrooms, two bathrooms, balconies, master bedrooms with walk-in closets, and two-car garages. Options include patios and gas fireplaces.
