Lakeside Crossing — Conway, SC

Below $100k – High $100s

Lakeside Crossing is a gated, age-restricted community located just outside of Myrtle Beach in the small town of Conway. It consists of 692 single-family homes that are available as both new and resale with prices starting below $100K. There are ranch-style floor plans available that range from 1,397 to 1,907 square feet with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a den, and attached one- or two-car garages.

Homeowners will find an array of amenities within the community including a clubhouse, an on-site pub, a hobby and game room, a ballroom, a multi-purpose room, a library, a business center, a catering kitchen, billiards, two tennis courts, three shuffleboard courts, and walking and biking trails. There’s also an entire fitness complex that features state-of-the-art equipment, an indoor pool, an aerobics and dance studio, locker rooms, and a massage therapy room.

Along with the extensive list of amenities, Lakeside Crossing also allows residents to live a low-maintenance lifestyle with a homeowners’ association that takes care of community maintenance and lawn care. With more free time available, residents can spend the extra time doing the things they love as well as taking advantage of the neighborhood’s many organized events and interest groups.

Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club — Myrtle Beach, SC

Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club is not only one of the largest active adult communities in Coastal Carolina but also one of the most affordable. The gated-community features more than one thousand single-family homes that are available on a resale-only basis. Residences within the established neighborhood were constructed by several builders, allowing for a wide variety of designs, styles, and floor plans. Most homes range between 1,100 to 1,800 square feet with two to three bedrooms and one to two bathrooms. HOA fees cover all community maintenance and lawn care for homes.

Amenities within the gates include a community center for neighbors to gather and socialize, a multi-purpose room, an outdoor pool and spa, two shuffleboard courts, two tennis courts, a picnic area, a playground, walking and biking trails, plus RV and boat storage.

Rivergate — Little River, SC

Low $100s – Mid $100s

Active adults looking for an affordable home in a small, close-knit neighborhood should consider Rivergate in Little River. The age-restricted neighborhood features 82 single-family and attached homes that are on the market on a resale-only basis.

Attached homes in Rivergate tend to range from 1,200 to 1,900 square feet. These attached residences have two or three bedrooms, two or two-and-a-half bathrooms, and an attached one- or two-car garage. The development’s single-family homes are similar in size with floor plans ranging from approximately 1,297 to 1,992 square feet with three or four bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage.

Rivergate homeowners have access to a clubhouse, lounge, catering kitchen, and outdoor pool and patio. Beyond the amenities, Rivergate is conveniently located near Myrtle Beach and all the resort town has to offer from live entertainment and sandy shorelines to top-notch shopping and dining options.

Spring Forest — Murrells Inlet, SC

The charming beachside town of Murrells Inlet is home to the gated, age-restricted community of Spring Forest. The neighborhood was originally built in 1985, and it’s made up of 126 single-family homes that are available as resale only.

Homes range from 1,056 up to 1,800 square feet and can have two to three bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and an attached one- or two-car garage. Nominal HOA fees take care of mundane tasks like lawn mowing, trash removal, maintenance in common areas, and R.V. and boat storage. Spring Forest’s list of amenities includes a clubhouse, an exercise room, a game room, a library, an outdoor pool, and RV and boat storage.
