One of Florida’s newest 55+ communities, Mirada in San Antonio, Florida is selling fast. The active adult neighborhood is part of the master-planned Mirada development, which is just 30 miles north of Tampa.

Lennar Homes is constructing 858 new homes in a part of Pasco County that’s known for its nature, culture, and proximity to larger cities like Tampa and St. Petersburg.

Tampa Bay Real Estate and Mirada

Whether you’re planning a Florida retirement from colder states to the north or you’re local and looking for new Tampa homes for sale, the properties at Mirada set themselves apart in the Gulf Coast Florida market.

They offer single-family homes and attached villas designed to support an active and low-maintenance lifestyle. While the entire Mirada community will have 5,000 homes, the Mirada neighborhood will have its own space and its own sense of community.

It borders be ponds, trails, and wetlands, providing residents with a little bit of privacy and opportunities for scenic walks, leisurely bike rides, or fitness-focused jogs.

The attached villas run between 1,396 and 1,731 square feet, while the single-family homes have 1,683 to 2,775 square feet. All properties have either two or three bedrooms, and buyers will have the opportunity to customize their homes. Some lots will offer private pools and spas.

Prices begin at the mid $200s and increase to the mid $300s, depending on the size, location, and design elements that are selected for new homes.

Unique Amenities for Mirada

Amenities specific to the 55+ residents at Mirada range from traditional to extravagant. In addition to those in the age-restricted community, buyers have full access to the amenities within the Mirada development, and they’re unlike the amenities found at other communities.

Why settle for a pool when you can swim in a lagoon? Under development is a 15-acre metro lagoon by Crystal Lagoons, it will be the largest crystal-clear lagoon of its kind in Florida.

There’s also a clubhouse, a fitness center, and several multipurpose rooms for club meetings and social activities. There’s an outdoor resort-style pool and a patio as well as tennis courts, bocce ball courts, and a place for pickleball. There’s an off-leash dog park and a lot of open outdoor space within the Mirada community.

The homeowners’ association serving Mirada will take care of exterior maintenance, security, and other issues to protect the time and comfort of residents. The community is planning a number of ongoing social events, including movie nights, sunset socials, and scheduled field trips.

Getting to Know San Antonio, Florida

Mirada is close to everything residents need to stay healthy, connected, and busy. Grocery stores like Publix, Winn-Dixie, and Save-A-Lot are close, and there are also retailers like Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS in the area.

Shopping can be found at the Tampa Premium Outlets, which is a couple of exits south on Interstate 75 as well as The Shops at Wiregrass, a large outdoor shopping complex in Wesley Chapel.

Residents who love to golf have several options within a few minutes’ drive. The most popular and pristine local courses include Lexington Oaks Golf Club and Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club.

When Mirada residents are ready for a night out, there are some great local restaurants. Pancho’s Villa Mexican Restaurant has daily specials written on a chalkboard, specialty margaritas, and enormous salads served in taco shells. You’ll smell On Q Smokehouse Grill before you see it, and the menu offers barbecue chicken, ribs, pork, brisket, and fish. It’s also easy to take the quick drive to Tampa for dining and entertainment downtown in the newly renovated Tampa Riverwalk.

St. Leo’s University is in San Antonio, and provides ongoing cultural and educational lectures, classes, and events. There’s a Benedictine Abbey on campus as well, and a shrine and grotto worth visiting. Other local points of interest include Colt Creek State Park, which offers hiking, fishing, boating, and equestrian opportunities over 5,000 acres of wilderness.

Getting to and from San Antonio is easy. Interstate 75 is minutes away, connecting residents to Tampa, Sarasota, and Orlando. The closest airport, Tampa International, is less than an hour away.
