Here are the top five active adult communities in South Carolina where homes sell fast:

1. Hulon GreeneWest Columbia, SC

Located in West Columbia, Hulon Greene is one of the most affordable active adult communities in South Carolina with prices starting below $100K. With such low prices, it’s no wonder the development is also one of the fastest-selling communities in the state. Homes within Hulon Greene are typically on the market for an average of 51 days or less.

The gated and age-restricted neighborhood has a mixture of 140 condos and single-family homes available on a resale basis. Floor plans for condos range from 832 to 1,210 square feet of living space and have one to two bedrooms and one to two bathrooms. Single-family home layouts offer more space, with options between 1,500 and 3,500 square feet with two to three bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages.

Hulon Greene residents have access to several amenities, including a clubhouse that boasts a fitness center, a library, and multipurpose rooms. Outdoor amenities include a pool and patio area, plus plenty of parks and natural space. Located 15 minutes outside of Myrtle Beach in the town of Little River, the active adult community of Hidden Lakes Village boasts a total of 269 single-family homes that are available on a resale basis. Real estate moves quickly within this community as listings tend to only stay on the market for an average of 67.96 days. Beyond its desirable proximity to the Myrtle Beach area and the Atlantic Ocean, Hidden Lakes Village has several reasons for being one of the top South Carolina communities where homes sell fast.

The community’s ranch-style layouts range from 1,360 to 3,224 square feet and have three to four bedrooms, two to four bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Homes have open floor plans and spacious living rooms ideal for entertaining. A number of models also have covered patios.

The Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club is an established community that offers homeowners some of the lowest-priced homes in the state of South Carolina. With prices starting below $100K and increasing into the mid $200s, it’s no surprise homes within the neighborhood move quickly— generally staying on the market an average of 85.42 days. While the affordable prices and enviable coastal location are big draws to the community, its vast selection of homes also helps properties move quickly.

The gated neighborhood consists of more than 1,000 single-family homes that have been built by several different builders, giving prospective buyers plenty of options when it comes to the look, feel, and size of their homes. Floor plans have two to three bedrooms, one to two bathrooms, and attached garages. Condo homes are also available and include studio and one- to two-bedroom units with one bathroom.

Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club also features a variety of amenities for residents to use, including a community center, an outdoor pool and spa area, two shuffleboard courts, two tennis courts, a playground, a picnic area, and walking and biking trails. Island Green features a mixture of attached, condo, and single-family homes with a vast selection of floor plans. Condominiums range from 480 to 1,251 square feet and have one to two bedrooms and one to two bathrooms. Attached homes are a similar size offering 480 to 1,018 square feet of living space with one to two bedrooms and one to two bathrooms. Single-family home layouts range from 1,100 to 3,468 square feet and have two to four bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages.

As far as amenities go, Island Green has plenty. Residents have access to a clubhouse, a social hall, a fitness center, and an indoor pool and spa. Outdoors, residents will find a pool and patio area, tennis courts, parks, natural space, and scenic ponds. An added benefit of owning a home in Island Green is the HOA, which handles common area maintenance, security, water, and cable TV.
