Overview

Altamont is a rural village in Upstate New York with a rich history dating back to when it was first incorporated in 1890. It is located in the town of Guilderland, but is surrounded by greenspaces and sits quietly away from the large, metropolitan cities of New York.

Most of New York experiences a humid continental climate type, which is characterized by four distinct seasons, with hot, humid summers and cold winters with temperatures that regularly drop below freezing. Residents can expect higher-than-average amounts of rain and snow, and approximately 180 days of sunshine throughout the year.

Some of the top attractions in Altamont include indian Ladder Farmstead Cidery and Brewery, Altamont Vineyard and Winery, Altamont Free Library, Spring Pond Bog, Indian Ladder Farm, Gio Expressions Private Spa, and Floodwood Mountain. 

For even more shopping, dining, and entertainment residents can reach Albany in about a half an hour, and both New York City and Boston are about three hours away providing convenient access for a day trip or weekend getaway.
