Located in the picturesque town of Chapel Hill, the gated Governors Club community is a master-planned development. It features 10 neighborhoods, more than 1,200 homes, and a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Three of the community’s neighborhoods—Tryon Courte, Morehead Forest, and Governors Square —are likely to be the most appealing to active adults.

Homes within these neighborhoods are available both as resale and new construction. Throughout the years, there have been many developers building residences in Governors Club. Potential buyers have a vast selection of floor plans to consider as well as a wide range of price points.

The Tryon Courte neighborhood features one- and two-story single-family homes. Floor plans range from 2,000 to 4,773 square feet and offer three or four bedrooms, two to five bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Tryon Courte will especially appeal to golf lovers as its flanked by the championship course on two sides.

If having the links on two sides of the neighborhood isn’t enough, golfers may want to consider Governors Square. The list of amenities includes a generously sized clubhouse that spans 42,000 square feet and has both indoor and outdoor dining options. There’s also a fitness center, an indoor pool, and aerobics and dance studios.

Outdoor amenities include an Olympic-sized pool, a large pool deck, several athletic courts, and of course, the 27-hole golf course. There’s also a driving range, a putting green, six practice courses, and a pro shop.
