Though it’s nice to venture outside of your 55+ community and explore new places to eat, sometimes, you just want to go somewhere close and familiar to get a good meal. Luckily, there are quite a few active adult communities that offer the convenience of on-site restaurants. It makes it easier to meet with friends and loved ones who find it difficult to travel far, or who just simply like to stay close to home.

So, without further ado, here are the five Tennessee communities with their own restaurants:

Fairfield Glade – Crossville

Below $100k – High $700s

Conveniently located just an hour and a half from Nashville and Chattanooga, this master-planned neighborhood in Crossville really has it all, including a variety of homes in different styles and sizes to meet every taste and budget. As far as restaurants go, Fairfield Glade residents can dine at the Legends Restaurant and Fireside Lounge, which is a full-service restaurant, catering complex, and lounge. Legends serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offer everything from New York Strip to a corned beef hash.

Since Fairfield Glade is so large, residents here have access to multiple amenity centers, the largest of which is the Fairfield Glade Community Center. 

It also has five championship courses, tennis courts, and a pro shop. There are plenty of recreation options with pickleball and shuffleboard courts as well. Boating fanatics will love the boat launch and the eleven fishing lakes available on the grounds, as well as two marinas.

While Fairfield Glade has no explicit age-restriction, this sought-after community earned the prestigious 2015 Seal of Approval from the American Association of Retirement Communities. With resort-style amenities and a full activities calendar, residents of Fairfield Glade can always enjoy a fabulous lifestyle.

Tellico Village – Loudon

Mid $100s – High $1Ms

Tellico Village is an established master-planned community located in Loudon. Homebuyers are attracted to the amenities and lifestyle provided by this lakeside community. There are three recreation centers, three golf courses with their own clubhouses, and a private country club. Though this community is not age-restricted, there is plenty for active adults to enjoy in this 3,000 home neighborhood.

If you’re looking for a restaurant that’s within the community that offers steaks, chicken, and seafood, and also holds specially themed dinners, the Blue Heron is where it’s at. Located in the Tellico Yacht and Country Club, this 20,400 square-foot clubhouse provides three levels of lounges, dining areas, and casual upscale dining Restaurant. The country club is located right on Tellico Lake and provides docks for boaters visiting friends and family at Tellico Village.

The amenities continue at Tellico Village with courses ideal for many golf enthusiasts. The Links at Kahite, Tanasi, and Toqua Championship Golf Courses each offers 18 holes of golf, practice facilities, a clubhouse, pro shop, and on-site dining.

Rarity Bay – Vonore

Low $100s – Mid $3Ms

Rarity Bay in Vonore is an active lifestyle community on Tellico Lake. Located on a 960-acre peninsula with views of the Smoky Mountains, this community puts a new meaning to country club living with access to a 15,650-acre lake, world-class amenities, and a championship golf course.

Rarity Bay welcomes homebuyers of all ages, and with a very active homeowners’ association (HOA) and wealth of activities, this Eastern Tennessee community makes it easy to get to know neighbors and encourages lifelong friendships based on common interests and hobbies.

Located within the Rarity Bay community is the Rarity Bay Golf & Country Club, where members enjoy access to a beautiful clubhouse that has private meeting rooms, an outdoor patio, an 18-hole course equipped with practice facilities and a pro shop and dining facilities such as The Bay Bistro, a restaurant offering breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.

The Retreat at Fairvue – Gallatin

The Retreat at Fairvue in Gallatin is a low-maintenance community consisting of 130 attached homes. Surrounded by an 18-hole championship golf course, residents can buy a membership at the Fairvue Plantation clubhouse and enjoy amenities like a swimming pool and fitness center. Located 45 minutes away from Downtown Nashville, The Retreat at Fairvue is near big-city entertainment, dining, and shopping, while being far enough away that residents can enjoy the relaxing lifestyle of the countryside.

For a fee, residents of The Retreat at Fairvue can become members of The Club at Fairvue Plantation. The clubhouse includes the Tennessee Grasslands restaurant and dining room with beautiful lakeside views to enjoy over a casual lunch or formal dinner. The menu changes seasonably as the executive chef and his team pay close attention to taste, freshness and using only premium ingredients.

Outside the clubhouse, a resort-style swimming pool is perfect for a relaxing dip. Homeowners can also lay under an umbrella poolside on the patio. An 18-hole championship golf course is also available for members looking to spend a day playing a challenging game with friends.
