Sun City — Menifee, CA

With 4,762 attached and single-family homes built from 1962 to 1981, Sun City is a sprawling 55+ community with a myriad of amenities, social clubs, and home styles. Set in the city of Menifee near Diamond Valley Lake and the Santa Rosa Ecological Reserve as well as casinos, big cities, and shopping, Sun City offers residents a resort-like atmosphere with a small-town feel.

Amenities at Sun City include two sparkling outdoor pools, a fitness center, three town halls, a woodworking shop, a lapidary studio, a ceramics studio, and a billiards room. Residents have fun playing table tennis and indoor shuffleboard, and they enjoy performances at the outdoor amphitheater. Other outdoor fun includes horseshoe pits, lawn bowling, bocce ball, and tennis courts.

Attached homes feature one to two bedrooms, one to two bathrooms, and a garage or carport. Single-family homes offer two to three bedrooms, one to two bathrooms, and a garage or carport. All homeowners enjoy RV parking, of course.

The Club — Menifee, CA

High $200s - Mid $300s

Another 55+ community in Menifee, The Club is a much smaller, more intimate active adult community comprised of 259 single-family homes. With a private setting and gated entrance, The Club is a safe and secure community with RV parking.

As the central hub of the community, the clubhouse is where residents make use of the exercise room, arts and crafts studio, library, and ballroom. Outdoors, community members enjoy the pool, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, and basketball courts. 

Construction began at The Club in 1994 and was completed by 2000, creating thoughtfully designed single-family homes with two to three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage.

Sun Lakes Country Club — Banning, CA

High $100s - Mid $400s

Sun Lakes Country Club is a 3,300-home 55+ community set in the desert city of Banning at an elevation of 2,350 feet. Among many other amenities, this gated active adult community offers RV parking on its sprawling grounds. 

Residents of Sun Lakes Country Club enjoy two private golf courses, an outdoor pool and patio area, three large clubhouses, a fitness center, a library, a grand ballroom, and a billiards room, as well as a full-service restaurant.

Potential homebuyers can choose from resale single-family or attached homes, ranging in size from 850 to 2,627 square feet. Homes feature two to four bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and a two- to three-car garage. Many also boast beautiful views of the golf range or nearby mountains.

Maravilla Estates — San Jacinto, CA

Low $200s - Mid $200s

As the newest community on this list, Maravilla Estates offers modern, new homes in the beautiful city of San Jacinto. Construction began in 2015, and the community currently has 218 single-family homes.

Homebuyers can choose from single-family ranch-style homes ranging in size from 1,502 to 1,652 square feet with one to two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage. These homes feature modern designs such as a breakfast bar in the kitchen and large walk-in closets. 

Amenities at Maravilla Estates include a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse, a fitness center, a catering kitchen, a ballroom and library, as well as a pool, two spas, and a shallow wading pool for visiting grandchildren. Tennis courts and a chipping green are in the plans, as well as RV parking.

Trilogy at Glen Ivy — Corona, CA

Built from 2001 to 2008 in the vibrant city of CoronaTrilogy at Glen Ivy offers newer, high-end homes and resort-like amenities in a gated 55+ community of 1,317 homes. Potential homebuyers can choose from 15 floor plans of resale attached and single-family homes.

Homes at Trilogy at Glen Ivy range in size from 1,290 to 2,253 square feet with two to four bedrooms and two to three-and-a-half bathrooms. Most homes feature two-car garages, but some larger homes have three-car garages.

The amenities at this active adult community are plentiful, and include a 13,000-square-foot clubhouse, a 15,000-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center, a hobby and craft studio, a catering kitchen and billiards room, and an outdoor saltwater pool. There’s also an 18-hole golf course, a full-service restaurant, an outdoor amphitheater, and RV parking.

Panorama Village — Hemet, CA

Panorama Village is an affordable, mid-sized 55+ community built from 1962 to 1968 in the small town of Hemet. With 501 low-maintenance single-family homes, this well-established community offers residents a welcoming, social environment.

At the clubhouse, residents gather to socialize and pursue hobbies such as games in the billiards room, reading in the library, and exercising in the fitness center. A swimming pool, spa, and patio are also onsite, as well as RV parking and miles of walking trails.
