There are five Shea Homes communities in Arizona, including four gated Trilogy communities. Mountainbrook Village – Gold Canyon, AZ

Mountainbrook Village is in Gold Canyon, a census-designated place of about 10,000 people on the very eastern edge of the Greater Phoenix urban area. The nearest main town is Apache Junction, which is a 10-minute drive away and has a population of about 42,000. The amenities of downtown Mesa, Arizona’s third-largest city, are only a 30-minute drive away, while a 15-minute drive takes residents into the Superstition Mountains, which are visible from the community.
Many residents enjoy the use of the two 18-hole golf courses: the Mountain Brook Golf Club and the Gold Canyon Golf Resort and Spa. Other outdoor amenities include two pools, a spa, and courts for playing tennis, pickleball, bocce, and basketball. For those who want more space, the largest homes are in the Estate series. Trilogy at Encanterra – Queen Creek, AZ

With 2,400 single-family homes, Trilogy at Encanterra is a gated community for the 55+ active adult. This Shea Homes Arizona community is located in Queen Creek, a fast-growing town of about 50,000 people. The nearest cities are Mesa and Chandler, with the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport being a 25-minute drive away. The San Tan Mountain Regional Park, which provides 10,200 acres for outdoor activities in the Sonoran Desert, is a 20-minute drive from the community.
The amenities are split between two centers. The Algarve covers two-and-a-half acres and has an 8,000-square-foot clubhouse, a tapas bar and restaurant, and a ceramics studio. Outside, there’s a pool, an events stage, and bocce ball and pickleball courts. The main center is La Casa which has a 60,000-square-foot clubhouse. Amenities here include several eating places, a ballroom, a business center, a fitness center, a spa, a steam room and sauna, an indoor pool, and studios for aerobics, dance, sewing, and arts and crafts. Outside, there are two more pools, an amphitheater, courts for tennis and sand volleyball, and an 18-hole golf course, the Encanterra Country Club.

Trilogy at Verde River – Rio Verde, AZ

It’s in Rio Verde, a census-designated place and planned community development with a population of about 2,000. It’s almost an hour’s drive northeast of Downtown Phoenix, and it’s for those who want to get out into the great outdoors. It’s on the very edge of the Tonto National Forest, while a 15-minute drive south takes you to the 21,099-acre McDowell Mountain Regional Park.
One of the main amenities is the Verde River Golf and Social Club with its 18-hole course, putting green, and practice facilities. Other sporting facilities include tennis, pickleball, and bocce courts as well as a croquet lawn. There’s also a pool with a poolside bar and grill, a lap pool, a hot tub, and an outdoor pavilion. Trilogy at Power Ranch is a Shea Homes Arizona development in Gilbert. It’s a gated community of 2,035 single-family homes for the 55+ active adult. Gilbert is a city of around 250,000 people and part of Phoenix’s urban sprawl. The community is a 25-minute drive south of downtown Gilbert, and a 25-minute drive north of the San Tan Mountain Regional Park with its 10,200 acres. This community is ideal for those who enjoy an outdoor lifestyle but also want the benefits of city living.
One of the main amenities here is the Trilogy Golf Club at Power Ranch, an 18-hole course that also has a pro shop, practice facilities, and a bistro and bar. The final Shea Homes Arizona community is Trilogy at Vistancia. It’s again a gated community and has 3,300 single-family homes for the 55+ active adult. It’s a 30-minute drive north of downtown Peoria, a city of 175,000 people that’s in the north-west corner of the Greater Phoenix urban area. It’s also a 30-minute drive from the Peoria Regional Preserve, with its mountains, desert, and numerous hiking trails.
The amenities center on the two clubhouses. The smaller one offers 17,000 square feet, a fitness center, an aerobics and dance studio, an arts and crafts studio, a restaurant, a bar and grill, and a demonstration kitchen. Outdoors, there’s a pool and two tennis courts. The larger Kiva Club has 35,000 square feet, and it’s the home of the 18-hole Trilogy Golf Club.
