Fortunately, for those considering a move to South Carolina, there are many options when it comes to active adult communities offering condos.

Here are seven active adult communities in South Carolina offering condos.

Covenant Towers – Myrtle Beach, SC

Built in 1985, the age-restricted Covenant Towers is home to more than 150 condos. The community offers prospective buyers five floor plans, from a 450-square-foot studio all the way to a 1,468-square-foot condo with two bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Covenant Towers spans nine acres and features a number of amenities including a library; craft, game, and dining rooms; a coffee shop; and a hair salon. There are also several outdoor amenities for residents to enjoy including a pool and patio, walking paths, and a community garden. Along with its amenities, Covenant Towers is also conveniently located near the Grand Strand and Pine Lakes Country Club.

Hilton Head Plantation – Hilton Head Island, SC

The established community of Hilton Head Plantation was built in 1973 and features more than 4,200 homes. There are single-family and attached homes available as well as condominiums. Prospective buyers interested in condos can expect to find units with two to four bedrooms and two to four bathrooms.

Hilton Head Plantation also features an extensive list of amenities, including the Dolphin Head Recreational Area, which has a clubhouse, a hobby and game room, a catering kitchen, horseshoe pits, and a BBQ grill. Additionally, there’s the Spring Lake Recreation Area for homeowners to take advantage of, which includes an outdoor pool, a wading pool, 12 Har-Tru tennis courts, several athletic fields, a stocked fishing lake, two conservatories, and walking and biking trails. Residents also have access to the Plantation House and Spring Lake Pavilion.

Hulon Greene – West Columbia, SC

Located right outside of Columbia, the gated and age-restricted community Hulon Greene features a combination of 140 condos and single-family homes that are available as resale-only. The development’s condominiums range from 832 to 1,210 square feet with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Hulon Green’s list of amenities includes a clubhouse with a library, multipurpose rooms, and a fitness center. Outside, homeowners will have access to a pool and patio.

Savannah Lakes Village – McCormick, SC

Located in the small town of McCormick, Savannah Lakes Village is home to 4,800 single-family homes and condominiums. There are three condo models that range from an 833-square-foot studio with one bedroom and one bath to a 1,420-square-foot condo with two bedrooms and two baths.

Savannah Lakes Village’s list of amenities includes access to the Monticello and Tara Golf Clubs as well as a 23,000-square-foot recreation center with a ballroom, multipurpose rooms, a fitness center, an aerobics and dance studio, a four-lane bowling alley, table tennis, and an indoor pool. Outdoors, residents will find a pool, six tennis courts, pickleball and bocce courts, and horseshoe pits.

Swansgate – Greenville, SC

The 55+ community of Swansgate has both condos and single-family homes on the 42-acre property. Condos within the community are spread throughout two three-story buildings, and each building features 12 units. Floor plans vary from 1,028 to 1,809 square feet with one to two bedrooms and one to two bathrooms.

Swansgate is also home to many amenities, including a centralized clubhouse with an exercise room, an activity room, a catering kitchen, a library, card tables, and billiards and game rooms. Residents can also enjoy many outdoor amenities, such as a pool and patio, a tennis court, a scenic pond, a gazebo, and walking and biking trails.
