    Surfside Beach is a town in Horry County, South Carolina. Best known for the nickname the locals have given it, “The Family Beach.” Retirees that are looking for a beach town with a great amount of outdoor recreation will surely appreciate Surfside Beach.

    Surfside Beach has a humid subtropical climate. The average annual high temperature is in the mid 70s and the average annual low temperature is in the low 50s. The average annual precipitation is roughly 50 inches of rainfall. 

    Surfside Beach is a beach town with sand and water. The town is known to be part of the Grand Strand on the Atlantic Ocean. The larger town of Myrtle Beach is approximately 10 miles northeast.

    Active adults frequently take a stroll and bike ride through Surfside Beach Pier and Hudson’s Surfside Flea Market. Surfside Beach offers all types of rentals. Spas and theaters are scattered throughout the town. The larger town of Myrtle Beach is near enough for residents to take day trips and explore a wider variety of activities.

They are Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Conway Medical Center, and Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. Grand Strand Regional Medical Center is ranked high performing in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and heart failure. Conway Medical Center is ranked high performing in hip replacement. Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital is ranked high performing in knee replacement.
