The following communities are the most popular gated communities in Fort Myers because of their desirable location, floor plans, amenities, and much more. Take a look at what they have to offer in addition to security and privacy.

Pelican Preserve

High $200s – High $600s

Pelican Preserve is a gated 55+ community that has been popular for more than a decade. Residents enjoy golf, swimming, and lots of other resort-style amenities in this secure community. Staying active is also made easy, thanks to the on-site lifestyle director who maintains the packed social calendar.

Volleyball, softball, basketball, pickleball, and tennis are just some of the outdoor activities residents can enjoy. There’s also a fitness center, a juice bar, and plenty of communal space for gatherings and events. With membership to The Pelican Preserve Golf Club, homeowners can visit a day spa, a restaurant, and the 27-hole championship golf course.

Buyers can choose from resale condos, attached villas, and single-family homes. The Chateau condos are 1,229 to 1,450 square feet with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Attached homes are 1,078 to 2,376 square feet with two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. Most of the single-family homes have two to four bedrooms, two to four bathrooms, attached two- or three-car garages, and between 1,823 and 3,093 square feet.

One of the most luxurious and exclusive communities in Fort Myers is Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club, a gated community facing the Caloosahatchee River. If waterfront living is on your mind when it comes to buying a home in Fort Myers, this may be the place for you.

The homeowners’ association (HOA) fee covers security as well as road and exterior maintenance, landscaping, and common area upkeep. There are 1,662 condos, single-family homes, and attached villas behind the gates of Heritage Palms. This active lifestyle community is one of the most popular golf communities on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Located just off Interstate 75, Heritage Palms is well-placed and offers a lot of diversity in terms of lifestyle, amenities, and housing.

Condos are available in three two-bedroom, two-bathroom models sized from 1,194 to 1,544 square feet. Villas and Verandas are attached homes with two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and attached one-car garages. Buyers can explore nine models starting at 1,333 square feet. Single-family homes range from 1,999 to 4,273 square feet with three or four bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half bathrooms, and an attached two- to four-car garage.

The main clubhouse includes a fitness center, a library, a dining room, and golf practice facilities. Two 18-hole golf courses are available for residents, as well as an aqua range and practice greens. There’s also an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and a pro shop.
