    Overview

Trinity is a quiet residential town in the Central Gulf Coast of Florida. It’s popular for its abundant outdoor recreation as well as its proximity to the conveniences, shopping, and cultural events of Tampa. Active adults can enjoy biking, golfing, and fishing away from the busier tourist areas.

    Climate & Geography

Located north of Tampa, Trinity experiences a humid subtropical climate typical of Florida. Summers are hot and humid, and there are frequent afternoon thunderstorms that result in high rainfall. Winters are mild and rarely reach freezing temperatures. There is no snow and an average of 244 days of sun each year.

Trinity is located on the flat, coastal plain of the Gulf Coast. The area is known for its sandy beaches, marshes, and palm trees. The land is also low-lying, just slightly above sea level.

    Recreation, Culture, & Entertainment

There is plenty of outdoor recreation surrounding Trinity. Lake Tarpon to the southwest offers residents a chance to fish and boat in freshwater, and the Brooker Creek Preserve to the south is a large natural space for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. In addition, active adults can head to the Suncoast Trail just east of Trinity, which features over 40 miles of bike paths.

Other popular amenities in Trinity include two breweries and several championship golf courses. Residents seeking brand-name shopping, world-class dining, and art museums can head south to Tampa, under an hour away.

    Cost of Living & Taxes

Trinity’s cost of living is above the national average because of high housing and transportation costs. All other factors, including groceries, utilities, and health care are at or below average.

Florida is very tax friendly for retirees as it does not have a state income tax. Property taxes in the state are low, and sales taxes are average for the U.S.

    Health Care

The Tampa metro area scores well on Gallup’s Well-Being Index, ranking in the top 100 communities across the country.

Trinity has one hospital, Medical Center of Trinity, which is rated high performing by U.S. News in its treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Other nearby high performing hospitals include Florida Hospital North Pinellas in Tarpon Springs, Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, and Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor.
