Climate and Geography

North Las Vegas is home to the most popular SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium, as well as many museums, art galleries, and a planetarium accessible for all residents.
Residents looking to get outside the city can explore the many forests preserves and state parks, as well as the desert valleys and mountains around the city. Some of these include, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Craig Ranch Regional Park, and Springs Reserve.

The cost of living in North Las Vegas is slightly higher than the national average, but less pricey than the state average. Most of what contributes to this is the cost for housing and transportation, which is higher than the national averages.
Nevada is one of the most tax friendly states in the nation. The state has no income tax, estate tax or tax on Social Security, which means more savings for active adults. The city of North Las Vegas does add a 3.65 percent sales tax onto the state’s 4.6 percent rate.
The city of North Las Vegas is home to plenty of medical centers and hospitals including North Vista Hospital, Mike O’Callaghan Federal Hospital, and Horizon Specialty Hospital.
Just outside the city, residents are in proximity to some of the best hospitals in Las Vegas, such as St. Rose Dominican Hospital, which was rated the No. 1 hospital in the state, and high performing in four procedures by U.S News. There is also Desert Springs Hospital Center, which was rated high performing in one procedure.
