    Indian Trail is a suburb of Charlotte in Central North Carolina. Its close proximity to the major city as well as its local breweries, antique shops, and flea markets have made it a popular city. Besides that, the suburb is home to a friendly community and many outdoor attractions to explore. 

    Climate & Geography

    Indian Trail has a humid subtropical climate. Summers are hot and humid while winters can be cold and wet. Residents can also expect more rain than the national average and over 200 sunny days a year. 

    The town is built in the Piedmont region of the state, meaning the terrain is mainly flat. There are several wooded areas nearby, including Colonel Francis Beatty Park.

    Recreation, Culture & Entertainment

    There is plenty to do outdoors, such as taking a family outing to Crooked Creek Park, where residents can go camping, hiking, fishing, and more. For those interested in the farming aspect of Indian Trail, there are many available farms that residents can visit, including Wise Acres Organic Strawberry Farm. Aside from these, there is also the Charlotte National Golf Club, which is ideal for residents who want to stay active. 

    Indian Trail is home to many local attractions, such as restaurants, antique shops, breweries, and flea markets. Not to mention, residents are also in driving distance of Charlotte, where they can find even more entertainment.

    The overall cost of living in Indian Trail is slightly higher than both national and state averages. Housing costs are higher than the state average, but health care costs are lower.

Homeowners 65 and older may qualify for the Elderly Exclusion program, which excludes the first $25,000 or 50 percent of the home’s appraised value from property taxes. They are Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, Carolinas Healthcare System Union, and Carolinas Healthcare System Pineville. Residents are also in proximity of Charlotte, where residents can find four high performing hospitals, two of which are nationally ranked: Carolinas Medical Center and Levine Children’s Hospital.
