Mashpee is a town in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Best known for being part of the charming sea coast villages of Cape Cod. Retirees that are looking for a beach town that still has an east coast feel with surrounding large cities are sure to appreciate Mashpee. 

Climate & Geography

Mashpee has a humid continental climate. The average annual high temperature is in the high 50s and the average annual low temperature is in the mid 40s. The average annual precipitation is roughly 40 inches of rainfall. 

Mashpee is located on the western part of Cape Cod. The larger city of Boston is approximately 65 miles north. Providence, Rhode Island is approximately 70 miles west. The area is made up of sandy soil, small ponds, and surrounded by pines and oaks. 

Recreation, Culture, & Entertainment

Shops and restaurants can be found down Mashpee Commons. Active adults frequently take a stroll and bike ride through South Cape Beach State Park, Lowell Holly Park, and Mashpee River Reservation. There are museums and brewing companies scattered throughout the city. The larger cities of Boston and Rhode Island are near enough for residents to take day trips and explore a wider variety of activities.

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth is ranked high performing in COPD and heart failure.
