Climate & Geography
Rochester is a part of Massachusetts’ eastern coastal area which experiences warm summers, milder winters than the rest of the state, and about about 200 sunny days each year.
The surrounding terrain is mostly low, flatlands interspersed with wetlands. There are several brooks and ponds throughout Rochester, and just south of town is Buzzards Bay, which leads to the Atlantic Ocean.

Rochester is home to a tight-knit community and neighborly feel. While there is no designated downtown area, there are plenty of local businesses, restaurants and shops. Not to mention, there are plenty of nature areas such as the East Over Reservation, where active adults can interact with wildlife, go fishing, camping and more. Residents are also in close proximity to the historic city of New Bedford, where they can enjoy all the attractions it has to offer including the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center and New Bedford Whaling Museum.
