1. Renaissance at Manchester – Manchester, NJ

Renaissance at Manchester is the most popular 55+ community of 2022! Though it’s New Jersey location might come as a surprise, it makes a bit more sense when homebuyers realize the community is halfway between New York City and Philadelphia, offering access to big-city entertainment.

The community itself has 1,904 resale homes. These properties were built between 1997 and 2007, offering 11 floor plans ranging from 1,522 to 2,256 square feet. You can find homes with one or two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and attached one- or two-car garages. And the best part—many of the homes have a view of the golf course.

Renaissance at Manchester offers residents a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse with a fitness center, a sauna, an indoor pool, a library, a computer lab, and a ballroom. Outside, there’s even more to enjoy. Homeowners can play basketball, tennis, horseshoes, shuffleboard, or bocce. There’s also a resort-style pool with a whirlpool spa and a patio. Some of the more unique amenities in this community include expansive RV parking, an on-site deli, and an 18-golf course.

But what about the location? It can’t just be the amenities that make this community so popular, right? Renaissance at Manchester is situated in a tranquil area of Manchester, New Jersey, but residents still have easy access to local attractions and daily necessities.

The community is close to several health care providers, including Toms River Family Medical Center, Community Medical Center, and Garden State Medical Center. Nearby attractions include Six Flags Great Adventure, Hidden Lake, and Grounds for Sculpture. Golfers can tee off at Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Cedar Creek Golf Course, and Pine Barrens Golf Club. And for avid travelers, Newark Liberty International Airport is just over an hour away.

2. Sun City Anthem – Henderson, NV

Sun City Anthem is an incredibly popular option for retirees who want to live near Las Vegas. This 55+ community is in the foothills of the Black Mountains, offering views of the Las Vegas Strip. Situated 800 feet above the valley floor, residents also enjoy cooler temperatures and cleaner air in their community.

As is standard for a Sun City community, there’s a vast variety of amenities for residents to enjoy. There are three clubhouses offering fitness centers, indoor pools, craft rooms, hobby studios, a computer lab, a ballroom, a day spa, and more. Outdoors, Sun City Anthem residents can make the most of the pleasant weather with walking and biking trails, sports courts, and an outdoor pool and patio.

With over 7,000 homes, Sun City Anthem has a lot to offer interested homebuyers. These properties were built between 1998 and 2008. Condos, attached homes, and single-family homes are available on a resale basis in 33 models. Many homes also feature sweeping views of golf courses or the Las Vegas Strip.

Located in Henderson and just 30 minutes from Downtown Las Vegas, residents are close to daily conveniences and recreation opportunities. Nature lovers can enjoy Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area and Clark County Wetlands Park. 3. Province – Maricopa, AZ

We’re heading to Arizona for our third most-popular 55+ community. Province is a picturesque haven. It has 50 acres of scenic lakes and waterways, with over 30% of the land occupied by parks and greenspace. The 32,000-square-foot clubhouse gives residents access to a fitness center, an indoor pool, a cafe, a ballroom, a library, a sewing studio, and more. Outdoors, there are several sports courts alongside an 18-hole putting green, an amphitheater, and walking and biking trails.

This gated community has over 2,000 attached and single-family homes. Construction on the community began in 2004, and many of the homes throughout the community offer water-efficient and energy-efficient features. Some homes also include private outdoor pools.

Province is just 38 miles south of Downtown Phoenix, giving residents access to big-city entertainment. It also allows easy access to Banner Health Center, Chandler Regional Medical Center, and Maricopa Wellness Center. Some local attractions include Ak-Chin Him-Dak Eco-Museum and Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. This 55+ community is located in Ocala, one of the state’s most desirable cities for active adults. Residents of this community are 30 miles from the  Gulf of Mexico, and just 90 minutes from Orlando or Tampa.

Including 3,509 homes, Oak Run was built from 1985 to 2007. Attached and single-family properties are available on a resale basis with over 20 floor plans for interested homebuyers to consider. Homes range from 1,049 to 2,275 square feet. Homes throughout the community offer singlelevel living with walk-in closets, dens, and a covered lanai. Some residences also have a private pool.

At Oak Run, residents have access to five clubhouses. Back in the Garden State, let’s take a look at Homestead at Mansfield. This gated community has 1,092 single-family homes for resale only. Constructed between 1983 and 2012, this is an established community with plenty of attractive amenities.

Located in Columbus, this community offers a peaceful country setting while also providing easy access to New York, Philadelphia, and the Jersey Shore. Closer to home, residents can make use of the large clubhouse with a fitness center, hobby rooms, a library, billiards, and a ballroom. Outdoors, there’s a heated pool, sports courts, and walking and biking paths—standard amenities that can help keep you moving.

It’s a thriving neighborhood with a wide selection of clubs and activities, such as aerobics classes, bingo nights, holiday parties, a travel club, a fishing club, and more.

The community clubhouse has meeting rooms, an outdoor pool, and a patio. Residents can also enjoy two lakes, shuffleboard courts, and a miniature golf course on the community grounds.

A well-established community in Toms River, Holiday at Silverton has 1,595 attached and single-family homes built between 1967 and 1975. Single-family homes range from 900 to 1,100 square feet and offer one or two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a carport or attached one-car garage. The attached homes are around 1,000 square feet and have one bedroom, one bathroom, and a driveway.
