Climate & Geography
Colorado is positioned between the northern and western hemisphere. The higher altitude results in less water vapor in the air which makes the air drier and thinner. Littleton sits in north central Colorado at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The city is a part of the Front Range area.
Littleton experiences hot temperatures in the summer with very cold, dry winters and heavy snowfall.

Chatfield State Park is located within the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and offers a wide range of outdoor activities throughout the year. This park is considered a prime location for boaters and those who enjoy water sports. Activities like horseback riding, hot air ballooning, ice fishing, and snowshoeing are also available at the site.
Roxborough State Park is best known for its striking red sandstone formations which spans over 3,300 acres. Various animals such as black bears, coyotes, mountain lions, and over 145 species of birds have been spotted in the park. Active adults have six trails to choose from for recreational activities.
While Littleton has so much to offer for retirees who enjoy being in nature, the Colorado Antique Gallery, Littleton Symphony Orchestra, and Littleton Museum are available to appeal to those with artistic interests.
