This 1,100-acre master-planned community has been named a Community of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver and boasts an award-winning clubhouse and miles of trails connected to the 8,200-acre Backcountry Wilderness Area. Open to homebuyers of all ages, this community of 13 enclaves will include approximately 1,117 homes from ten home model collections upon completion. Three of those home model collections will feature single-family ranch homes for a total of 283 luxury ranch homes that appeal to active adult homebuyers. With world-class amenities, residences, and outdoor recreation, active adults looking for single-family homes for sale in the Denver area should explore BackCountry.

BackCountry Amenities

Residents of BackCountry have access to an abundance of amenities designed to encourage an active, social lifestyle surrounded by nature and outdoor recreation. The Sundial House clubhouse, located on an elevated peak, features panoramic views of Downtown Denver, Longs Peak, Pikes Peak, and the 8,200-acre Backcountry Wilderness Area.

The private lodge boasts approximately 12,000 square feet of amenities, including Pikes Pub and Bar complete with a dining area and demonstration kitchen. Additional amenities include a grand lobby, fitness and cardio rooms, a movement studio, spa treatment rooms, meeting spaces, and social gathering rooms.

Outdoors, the Sundial House has decks and a grand terrace with a fire pit, ideal for watching Colorado sunrises and sunsets. Residents can also enjoy a resort-style swimming pool, two-lane lap pool, and spas. An outdoor amphitheater hosts concerts and community events.

Throughout BackCountry, miles of trails connect residents to several community parks and open spaces. The eight well-maintained parks include the lakeside Reflection Park and the scenic Overlook Park. Several different trails connect residents to the Sundial House and to the wilderness beyond.

In addition to the hard and soft surface trails that weave through the development, additional trails can be found in the South Rim and the Backcountry Wilderness Area. The South Rim is a private enclave of 467 acres reserved for homeowners to bike, hike, walk, and birdwatch. The South Rim extends into the Backcountry Wilderness Area for a total of 8,200 acres of natural open space adjacent to the community.

Two private trails extend into the Backcountry Wilderness Area: The Sundial Loop and the BackCountry Loop. The Sundial Loop has a long loop of 2.4 miles and a short loop of .75 miles. The BackCountry Loop spans either 2.1 or 3.5 miles. Additionally, residents can use the Douglas County Regional Trail that follows the southern edge of the Backcountry Wilderness Area. With miles of scenic nature trails, residents need only step outside to breathe the fresh air of the Colorado wilderness and admire its scenic beauty.
