Laurel is located on the Patuxent River bank and has soft rolling hills though, it is primarily flat. Temperatures are in the 40s during the winter. However summer temperatures are in the high 80s, thanks to the humid subtropical climate.

Laurel is also a short drive away from large cities like Washington D.C. and Baltimore.
