Premier builder David Weekley is developing a new 55+ community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina this year that’s designed for active retirees. Encore at Briar Chapel will provide Baby Boomers with an intimate setting of 185 low-maintenance single-family homes within the master-planned Briar Chapel community. In addition to a private clubhouse in the 55+ neighborhood, homeowners will also have access to the master-planned amenities found throughout Briar Chapel for an invigorating and vibrant lifestyle year round.

Residences

Construction of Encore at Briar Chapel began earlier this year and David Weekley plans to build just 185 single-family homes. In July, the builder released four floor plans for homebuyers to choose from that are named Newcastle, Wakeford, Tabula, and Harwin. These models offer 1,600 to 2,600 square feet of living space and have two or three bedrooms, dens, two to three-and-a-half bathrooms, and an attached two or two-and-a-half-car garage.

These elegant floor plans are part of David Weekley’s design collections called Classic and Tradition Series that are situated on 45-foot or 55-foot homesites and feature one-story living, open layouts, second-floor bonus rooms, and large entertaining areas. Pricing starts in the low $300s and front yard maintenance will be included in the monthly fee, so residents can truly enjoy a low-maintenance lifestyle.

Amenities

Encore at Briar Chapel will host a private 3,100 square-foot clubhouse that will be the social epicenter of the age-restricted community. Plans call for a state-of-the-art fitness center, multi-purpose room, an outdoor pool and patio, as well as tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. Other recreational areas will include a dog park so residents can spend quality time with their furry companion as well as miles of walking and biking trails and beautiful park space so they can remain active outdoors.

In addition to the proposed amenities within Encore at Briar Chapel, active adults will also have access to the world-class amenities found within the master-planned community of Briar Chapel. Residents will be able to enjoy the elegant Briar Club that’s brimming with resort-style amenities. Homeowners have plenty of gathering spaces like an exercise room and aerobics studio to maintain a health regimen as well as social areas like a community room, catering kitchen, bar, and card room.

Recreation

Outdoors, homeowners have numerous activity areas to keep them busy while getting some fresh air. Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool, sports courts, walking and biking trails, and 900 acres of parks and open spaces.   Active adults will have endless options for socialization and recreation in Encore at Briar Chapel. The community will have an onsite, full-time lifestyle director who will be available to help plan and organize events, activities, classes, and day trips for all to enjoy.

Homeowners will be able to join fitness classes like boot camp, yoga, Zumba, water aerobics, walking group, and 65+ walkers to remain healthy throughout their Golden Years. They can also mingle with neighbors at the clubhouse, play a game of tennis, gather with friends by the outdoor pool, or go on a leisurely stroll along the scenic trails that wind throughout the development. No matter what they decide to pursue, residents will have plenty of things to do that will keep them busy all year long.
