Del Webb Bexley hosted hundreds of active adults for its model grand opening.

Active adults from states like Michigan and Pennsylvania arrived at Del Webb Bexley in Land O’Lakes, Florida on February 23, 2019 for the grand opening of the Tampa Bay area’s newest 55+ community. Visitors were treated to tours of model homes, live music, food and drink, and raffles. More than 500 out-of-state and local residents dropped in to take a spin on a golf cart and talk with builders and sales agents about their plans for Del Webb Bexley.

Del Webb Bexley’s Model Homes

A diverse number of models and floor plans are available at Del Webb Bexley. Smaller models like Steel Creek in the Garden Series offer two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and about 1,372 square feet.

The Pinnacle Model, potential buyers can get a look at available upgrades, including a private, screened-in pool, granite counters, and stainless steel appliances. This home has three bedrooms and a den, three bathrooms, and a two-and-a-half car garage.

The Stonewater Grand model is one of the largest homes available with 2,852 square feet. Laid out with modern living in mind, there’s an open floor plan downstairs with two bedrooms and a den. Upstairs, there’s a loft space that includes a bar, an additional bedroom, and a walk-in closet the size of a small bedroom. Huge windows in the living area look out over a pond and provide a view of where the Meridian clubhouse will be located.

Robert Harris, a resident ambassador who lives at Stone Creek in Ocala, was on hand at the grand opening to talk to potential residents about what it’s like to live in a 55+ community built by Del Webb. He said he loves telling visitors about the golf cart room, a feature in many floor plans that can be converted into an extra office space or den.

“It’s where I keep my Harley and my work things,” he said. “We love that you can either use it to park your golf cart or convert it into another separate room in the house.” Robert’s home in Ocala matches the Martin Ray model at Del Webb Bexley, which has two bedrooms, a den, two bathrooms, and 1,968 square feet of space.

Coming Soon: Del Webb Bexley’s Clubhouse

Parking for the grand opening was on the site of what will soon become the Meridian - a 19,000 square-foot clubhouse that will serve as the community’s social center. It will include a sophisticated fitness center with the most modern and innovative exercise equipment as well as an aerobics and dance studio for yoga, stretching, and strength training classes.

A grand ballroom and several multi-purpose rooms will be available to host parties, potlucks, and club meetings. Other amenities that residents will see after the clubhouse is completed include community gardens, dog parks, an outdoor amphitheater, and a resistance pool.

Residents can also expect to play some competitive or friendly sports on-site, including tennis, bocce, and pickleball. People are already bike riding around the development, and paths and trails are being constructed for long walks and scenic strolls. A full-time activities director will be available for help with event planning and social coordination.

Del Webb expects the clubhouse to be finished early in 2020. Stay and Play Packages will be available towards the end of 2019, in which interested buyers can stay in one of the model homes, meet with current residents, and explore the community.

Living in Land O’Lakes and Tampa

Situated in a picturesque area north of Downtown Tampa, Land O’Lakes is growing into a thriving center for shopping, dining, and fun. It’s less than an hour from the Gulf of Mexico beaches, close to Interstate 75, and about half an hour from Downtown Tampa.

Alina Grier and her husband live in Michigan and spend a few months every winter in the Tampa area. For them, Saturday’s grand opening was an introduction to the idea of buying a home in Florida.

“We rent every year,” Alina said. “But this is a great way to decide if there’s something we’d consider buying. It’s fun to think about.”
