National builder Pulte has announced tentative plans for a new Del Webb 55+ community to be located in Westfield, Indiana just north of Indianapolis. The announcement comes in the form of the petition to rezone 245 acres of farmland, paving way for what would be the area’s third Del Webb community.
Plans are in their initial stages, and they're contingent upon approval from the local government. It has been revealed that Pulte is seeking to build 490 single-family homes in this yet-unnamed active adult community. Floor plans have not yet been announced, but one can expect they’ll share many of the same modern features and design trends seen in other recently announced Del Webb communities. These include smart home integration, single-level living, and a vast array of customizable options and finishes to ensure your new home is well-suited to your needs and tastes.
Plans filed with the city of Westfield also include a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse which, like other Del Webb communities, is sure to be the center of social life and activity in the community. Vandalia by Del Webb, located in nearby Plainfield, also has a similarly sized clubhouse with indoor amenities like a fitness center, meeting spaces, and hobby rooms. Outdoors, residents enjoy a pool with a spacious patio, tennis and pickleball courts, and lush, manicured grounds that Del Webb communities are known for.
A Prime Location
Westfield is just north of Indianapolis, and it's in one of the most desirable suburban areas. Carmel is about a 10-minute drive from the proposed location of this new community. The city is renowned for its planned downtown area which is designed with pedestrians and cyclists in mind. The city boasts more than 200-miles of trails and paths connecting the Art and Design District, the Kawachinagano Japanese Garden, the Clay Terrace retail center, and much more.
Indianapolis is just a few minutes to the south of Carmel, and it has all the amenities and attractions one would hope for in a big city. The city is home to numerous museums, including the Eiteljorg Museum, the NCAA Hall of Champions, and the renown Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Sports fans have plenty to look forward to as the city is the home of the NCAA and often hosts national tournaments. The NFL’s Colts and the NBA’s Pacers offer fall and winter excitement while the Indy 500 attracts its fair share of fans.
