Quail Creek in Green Valley, Arizona broke ground on a brand-new clubhouse.

Green Valley is one of the most popular areas for snowbirds and for full-time retirees in Southern Arizona, and the gated community of Quail Creek is one of its most prestigious addresses. This 55+ active adult community already boasts a 27-hole championship golf course, a clubhouse, the Anza Athletic Club, and a Creative Arts and Technology Center. A groundbreaking ceremony has now taken place which will add the brand-new 36,500-square-foot Canyon Club to Quail Creek's amenities.

Quail Creek was built by Robson Communities and has 4,000 attached and single-family homes. It's a 15-minute drive from the center of the town of Green Valley, where the nearest shops, restaurants, and other facilities can be found. Arizona's second-largest city, Tucson, is a 30-minute drive away, as is Tucson International Airport.

The Canyon Club's Planned Amenities

The Canyon Club's indoor amenities will include a pool with lap lanes, a fitness center, a multipurpose room, a room for indoor games, a bistro with a coffee/wine bar, locker rooms with saunas, and massage rooms. Outside, there will be a pool, a whirlpool, an event lawn, and a shaded terrace with a pizza oven and BBQ.

To show the significance of the multi-million dollar Canyon Club, the groundbreaking on September 29, 2020, was attended by Edward Robson, the Chairman and Founder of Robson Communities; his son Mark Robson, the company's president; and several other senior executives.

The Canyon Club's location and design make full use of its setting in Southern Arizona. To the west is a desert wash, and to the south are mountain views, both enjoyed through the use of large expanses of glass and movable walls. The Arizona landscape also inspires both the interior and exterior design of the new club, which uses earth tones, natural wood, and copper metals alongside leather decor to create a 'modern ranch' look and feel.

Amenities and Activities Currently Available

The existing clubhouse, the Madera Clubhouse, is named after Madera Canyon, which is one of the nation's leading birdwatching destinations, a popular spot for local hikers, and just a 25-minute drive from Quail Creek. The clubhouse has a ballroom, a library, billiards room, and meeting rooms. Other amenities include the separate Anza Athletic Club, which has a fitness center, an indoor whirlpool spa, dance/yoga/aerobics rooms, a lap and resort-style pool, and courts for bocce and tennis.

Quail Creek's Creative Arts and Technology Center provides residents with a computer lab, a woodworking shop, and studios for several arts and crafts including quilting, needlework, ceramics, lapidary, jewelry, fine arts, and glass arts. Additional amenities at Quail Creek include a pickleball center, a dog park, and more tennis and bocce courts.

There are also numerous clubs, groups, classes, and activities for Quail Creek residents to participate in. These include various arts and crafts clubs, ballroom and line dancing, a hiking group, sports clubs, card and board games, water aerobics, and a birdwatching club.
