After analyzing sales made through 55places.com between January 1 and January 31, we determined which active adult communities sold the best last month. Please note that this number is drawn from sales made through the website and doesn’t represent overall sales in any given community.
The best-selling active adult communities of January 2020 include popular communities in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, New Jersey, and Tennessee. While most of the communities offer a 55+ age-restricted lifestyle, two are active lifestyle communities. Below $100k - Low $400s
Last year, On Top of the World took home some of the highest honors on 55places.com as the best-selling and most-popular community of 2019 as well as the Community of the Year. With so many awards and accolades, it comes as no surprise that On Top of the World is the best-selling community of January 2020.
Located in the heart of Central Florida, this gated 55+ community plans to include 10,000 single-family and attached homes upon completion, making it one of the largest age-restricted communities in Florida. As such an expansive development, the community provides a vast array of world-class amenities for almost any interest and hobby.
The amenities feature a recreation center, a hobby building, a conference center, and the Circle Square Commons, a town square with a continuing education center, fitness center, spa, cultural center, coffee shop, and an ice cream shop. Throughout the grounds, residents can enjoy indoor and outdoor pools, dozens of athletic courts, restaurants, a mini golf course, and a 1,500-seat ballroom.

Located in Sun City Center in the Tampa Bay area, Kings Point consists of 5,277 single-family and attached homes in a variety of floor plans. With home models that range from approximately 800 to 3,038 square feet, interested buyers can find the home that best suits their needs and preferences, whether they want to downsize or supersize.
In addition to a variety of homes for sale, Kings Point boasts luxury amenities, such as a 97,000-square-foot clubhouse with a cafe, a fitness center, an indoor pool and spa, a ballroom, a theatre, multipurpose gathering spaces, and studios for woodworking, lapidary, and arts and crafts. Renowned active adult developer Del Webb began construction on this gated 55+ community in 2007 and plans to build 1,988 single-family, attached, and condominium homes upon completion, with both new and resale homes available.
The desirable Del Webb floor plans include spacious condo homes that range from 1,810 to 2,129 square feet as well as attached homes that range from 1,157 to 1,868 square feet. The luxury single-family homes range from 1,485 to 2,633 square feet with features such as open-concept layouts, owner’s suites with en-suite bathrooms and walk-in closets, covered lanais, sunrooms, and golf cart garage parking.
In addition to proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, residents can enjoy an abundance of amenities. With plans for 692 single-family homes, this gated 55+ community offers affordable homes for sale with both new and resale homes available. The homes range from 1,397 to 1,907 square feet with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and attached one- or two-car garages.

As the largest 55+ community in the Lone Star State, Sun City Texas boasts resort-style amenities, luxury Del Webb home models, and plans for 9,900 single-family and attached homes across 5,300 acres. The location puts residents near the world-class music, entertainment, and dining of Austin, which means that there’s always plenty to do and see nearby.
The amenities at Sun City Texas include three 18-hole golf championship courses, over two dozen athletic courts, and nine miles of walking and biking trails. At the 86,000-square-foot Village Center Amenity Complex, residents can find a state-of-the-art fitness center, two indoor pools, an indoor walking track, a ballroom, a restaurant, a cafe, and studios for ceramics, arts and crafts, sewing, stained glass, and woodworking.
At the amenity complex and the Cowan Creek Amenity Center, active adults can enjoy a full social calendar of activities, clubs, and classes. 6. Solivita - Kissimmee, FL

Upon completion, the age-restricted Solivita community will include 5,900 single-family and attached homes across 4,300 acres.
As a golf cart-friendly community, Solivita provides residents with a convenient transportation option to explore the development and access the world-class amenities, such as the 32,000-square-foot Riviera Spa & Fitness Center, the 19,000-square-foot Palms Amenity Complex, and the 16,000-square-foot Waterfront Galleries. This month’s best-selling active adult community in New Jersey is Holiday City at Berkeley, by far the largest 55+ community in the state. Designed to suit a variety of preferences and needs, the single-family homes range from 757 to 1,852 square feet with one or two bedrooms, one or two bathrooms, and attached one- or two-car garages. Holiday City at Berkeley provides amenities throughout six clubhouses, with two of the clubhouses designated to serve the needs of the entire development. Residents can take advantage of a community transit system that can transport them to the clubhouses with ease.

Some of the benefits of a Texas Hill Country retirement include the abundant lifestyle options, the variety of cultural attractions, and the stunning scenery. At Hill Country Retreat, active adults can enjoy some of the best that this region has to offer with the benefits of a 55+ community.
Developers Del Webb and Village Builders began construction of Hill Country Retreat with plans to build 2,090 single-family homes total. Across four home model collections, the residences range from 1,109 to 2,838 square feet with two or three bedrooms, one to three-and-a-half bathrooms, and attached two- to three-car garages.
The Resort Clubhouse boasts 28,000 square feet of amenities, which include a state-of-the-art fitness center, an indoor walking track, an indoor pool and spa, a ballroom, and multipurpose gathering spaces for ceramics and arts and crafts. At the clubhouse, residents gather for activities, clubs, and classes such as music club, dance group, poker, karaoke, billiards, and Friday night socials.

Among the best-selling communities of January 2020, The Vistas at Westfield stands out for several reasons. Not only is it the best-selling North Carolina active adult community of the month, but it's also an active lifestyle community with a relatively small number of homes.
Located in the Asheville-Hendersonville area of Western North Carolina, The Vistas at Westfield plans to include just 102 attached homes upon completion. With both new and resale homes available, the floor plans range from 1,619 to 2,769 square feet, providing plenty of personalization options.

Located along the shores of Tellico Lake, this master-planned development plans to include 3,375 single-family and attached homes upon completion, and interested homebuyers can find opportunities for both new and resale residences.
