    Ocean Township is a historic town located near the eastern coast of Central New Jersey. The town has a variety of shopping and entertainment options, and it is just over an hour from both Philadelphia and New York City, offering residents easy access to city life.

    Climate & Geography

    Ocean Township is situated on low-lying land near wetlands. On the eastern edge of New Jersey between New York City and Philadelphia, Ocean Township is a short distance from the Atlantic Coast. Harvey Brook and Poplar Brook run through the town.

    The area experiences all four seasons in a humid subtropical climate. Summers are hot and winters dip below freezing. The region experiences more rainfall and less snowfall than average as well as a high number of sunny days.

    Recreation, Culture & Entertainment

    Those interested in outdoor recreation will find there are plenty of things to do in Ocean Township. The area offers golf courses and parks with features like tennis courts as well as walking and biking trails. Ocean Grove Beach, located in nearby Ocean Grove, is just four miles from Ocean Township and offers sunbathing and fishing.

    For history buffs, the Township of Ocean Historical Museum focuses on preserving the area’s past. Located in a house that is over 200 years old, the museum is open to visitors who want to learn about the area’s history, and it hosts many events for the community throughout the year.

    Ocean Township locals can find everything they need in close proximity to their homes. The area offers various shopping and dining options as well as the Italian American Association Festival, a weekend-long festival each summer. The town is also just over an hour away from Philadelphia and New York, providing locals easy access to the amenities of larger cities.
