Cedar Village at Holmdel is an upscale active adult community for those 55 and over in Monmouth County, New Jersey. It has lovely vistas and offers effortless access to the Jersey Shore. Residents are also within walking distance to a huge retail center and major public transportation.
All homes are ranch-style and most feature popular after-builder additions as well as various upgrades. Homes are available on a resale basis, and none are older than 2001. With 158 residences this is a small neighborhood, but features all of the amenities of larger communities.

The clubhouse grounds include a golf putting green, perfect for practicing before heading out to any of the numerous golf courses in Holmdel. There are also bocce ball and shuffleboard courts. An outdoor pool and a spa round out the amenities of Cedar Village at Holmdel.

Cedar Village at Holmdel is part of a big mixed-use development that includes a 235,000 square-foot retail center, a nursing home, and an assisted living facility with 110 units. Residents also enjoy the close-knit atmosphere of this intimate neighborhood that offers all the benefits of a larger community. The amenities allow neighbors to gather for games of bocce ball, shuffleboard, billiards, or tennis. The distinct, but pleasant, four-season climate allows for participating in a great variety of outdoor activities year round.
Area
This age-restricted community is located on Laurel Avenue, off of Route 35, with convenient access to the Garden State Parkway. Transportation options include a train station where residents can access the New Jersey Transit Line. Other public transportation consists of bus routes and ferry service to New York City. Monmouth County is home to many parks and golf courses. These include Holmdel Park, Drumpf National Golf Course, and Bamm Hollow Country Club. Holmdel residents have easy access to scenic shore towns and beaches, such as Union Beach, Belmar Beach, and Cliffwood Beach.
Popular attractions in Holmdel and the surrounding area include the PNC Bank Arts Center, the Karl Jansky Radio Astronomy Monument, the Mac Kenzie Museum and Library, and the Historic Centennial Summer Cottage. Cities in a 30 mile radius include Newark, Trenton, and Jersey City. The closest major airport is Newark Liberty International Airport, about 25 miles away. Other major airports are John F. Kennedy and La Guardia, both within a 30 mile radius. Cedar Village at Holmdel is a wonderful active adult community in Central New Jersey.

We've been shopping for this kind of community all over Monmouth and this is one of our favorites so far. The homes are really nice and the location is great. You're close to the parkway and beaches (and the ferry to NYC), great golf, plenty of shops and restaurants, etc. It's really convenient to everything. We thought the clubhouse was a little small but it had all the basics we would want like the fitness center, pool, tennis and a putting green was a nice extra!
