    Southampton Township, located in Burlington County of Southern New Jersey, is a quaint town surrounded by parks and preserves. It is popular among active adults for its abundant outdoor recreation. With a small population, it offers retirees a close-knit community and small-town charm while still being close to major metro areas.

    Southampton Township has a humid subtropical climate. Summer temperatures reach the 80s while winters are cool, dipping into the 30s. The area receives about 45 inches of rainfall and 14 inches of snow every year as well a 205 days of sun. 

    Southampton Township, along with 55 other municipalities, is located within the New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve, the country's first National Reserve. The Brendan T. Byrne State Forest is located directly to the east, and Philadelphia is located approximately 30 miles west. 

    Recreation, Culture, & Entertainment

    Southampton Township residents are surrounded by greenspaces and natural areas. The Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, Rancocas State Park, and Historic Smithville Park are all right by the township. Residents can hike, bike, and boat in these expansive areas. The Pemberton Rail-Trail, a 3-mile trail, is also nearby, perfect for quick runs.

    The township boasts local antique shops and small eateries, and Burlington County has several brand-name shopping centers for daily necessities. For more entertainment, museums, and high-end boutiques, residents can head 35 minutes to Trenton and 45 minutes to Philadelphia.

    The cost of living in Southampton Township is above the national average but below the state average. Compared to New Jersey, housing and transportation costs are below average.
