Summers are sunny and humid, and winters are short, while temperatures average in the 70s year-round. Residents can expect more rain than the national average and about 250 sunny days a year.
The city is made up of different scenic landscapes such as mountains, hills, and heavy forested areas. It is surrounded by several bodies of water, including three of the most prominent, Lake June to the west, Lake Huntley to the east, and Lake Placid to the north.
