These communities in Southeast Florida earned a lot of attention from homebuyers in 2019.

Southeast Florida really embodies the active adult lifestyle. There’s sun and nature and plenty of beaches and golf courses. There are also some highly desirable and well-located 55+ communities for buyers who are thinking about a Florida retirement or looking for a fun place to live.

Using homebuying data, we gathered together the best-selling Southeast Florida communities in 2019. It looks like condos are the most popular properties to buy, likely for their affordability and easy access to amenities and attractions. Let’s take a look at what else made the list.

1. Century Village EastDeerfield Beach, FL

Below $100k – Mid $200s

Homes for sale in Broward County don’t get more exciting and affordable than the condos available at Century Village East, which explains why it’s the top seller of 2019. This 55+ community has a number of mid-rise condo buildings with two to four floors, elevators, and security.

Homes offer one to two bedrooms and one to two bathrooms, and buyers can choose from eight models with between 650 and 1,100 square feet. Open floor plans provide spacious and sun-filled rooms, and the patio or balcony space with each unit comes with a view of the water or the golf course.

Residents are never bored at Century Village East. The amenities are extensive, with nearly 20 pools, a 145,000-square-foot clubhouse, a fitness center, and spaces for tennis, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and volleyball. The golf course has 18 holes, and there’s a photography studio and a music room as well. Community transit is available for people with errands to run or appointments to keep, and there’s an active social calendar that includes events like painting classes, day trips, and movie nights. Also, Deerfield Beach has a dramatic fishing pier and quiet, tranquil beaches.

2. Wynmoor VillageCoconut Creek, FL

Below $100k – Mid $200s

Condos at Wynmoor Village, a 55+ community in Coconut Creek, are selling fast, and it’s likely due to the Wynmoor Golf Club, which provides residents with a seasonal membership opportunity or the ability to pay as they play. Other community amenities include a woodworking studio, a stone and clay studio, and space for ceramics, stained glass, and painting. The clubhouse also has a fitness center, a business center, and a lecture hall.

Outside, residents can enjoy a resort-style pool, shuffleboard courts, tennis courts, and a walking pool. Dozens of clubs and special interest groups bring neighbors together and provide social and learning opportunities.

Most of the resale condo homes have upgrades such as new floors and appliances, and buyers can choose between 550 and more than 1,250 square feet with one to three bedrooms and one to two-and-a-half bathrooms. There’s plenty of well-lit and secure parking, and the HOA ensures a low-maintenance lifestyle. The community is close to the heart of Coconut Creek, which is fun to explore.
