Two of these top brands are public, three are family owned and they all have been successful homebuilders for several decades.

Florida’s Top 8 Lowest-Priced 55+ Communities

After getting a great response for our new Advanced Search feature, we decided to use it ourselves to find the best low-priced communities in Florida. Our search focused on communities which met three criteria: all community sizes, an age-restriction and new construction homes. We further restricted our search to communities with homes priced in the low $100s or under.

For most homebuyers, “community” is the most desirable part of active adult communities. Social clubs, classes, events and amenities are strong selling points, and that often means choosing a community with a large central clubhouse. However, several developers are taking the clubhouse concept one step further with the evolution of community town centers.

The Sunshine State has long been a hot spot for retirement living, yet lately some active adults have been skipping the coastal areas and opting to settle in central Florida’s active adult communities. What’s behind this relocating trend?

Central Florida has many of the same relocation draws as its coastal cities. The weather is hot in the summer and mild in the winter. It is a prime vacation spot for visiting family, and there are a variety of recreational activities and active adult communities. Yet central Florida active adult communities have a few extra benefits that attract many retirees.
