The 37,000-square-foot clubhouse features such amenities as a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, sports courts, arts and crafts studios, and hobby and game rooms. The community is only 25 miles southeast of Downtown Denver and places like Pike National Forest and Colorado Springs are only an hour away.

2. Prescott Lakes -Set in Prescott, Arizona at an elevation of 5,300 feet, Prescott Lakes is not age restricted but offers a lifestyle that appeals to active adults. The Prescott Lakes Golf Course winds through the community and many activities are offered through the 12,000 square foot clubhouse.

Residents can stay in shape at the well-equipped fitness center, swim in the indoor and outdoor pools, or enjoy the tennis, basketball, and sand volleyball courts. The quiet town of Prescott is known for his historic Victorian homes and art galleries, yet is only 90 minutes from big city attractions. The area is renowned for its hiking, golfing and scenic views of both the mountains and nearby lakes.

3. Sierra Canyon – Nestled on the south slope of the Peavine Mountains in Reno, Nevada, Sierra Canyon is an ideal location for mountain lovers who are aged 55 or better. Set at an elevation of 4,400 feet, Reno boasts views of snowcapped mountains and beautiful weather with four mild seasons.

Sierra Canyon has over 1,200 homes and is part of the larger master planned community of Sommersett. Aspen Lodge, the 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, is the center of Sierra Canyon’s community activities. The amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor pool, outdoor spa, tennis courts, billiards, and hobby and game rooms. Sierra Canyon is conveniently located only 15 minutes from Downtown Reno and the Reno International Airport.

4. Sun Lakes Country Club -Located in Banning, California, Sun Lakes Country Club is an impressive active adult community featuring incredible mountain views. This 55 and better age restricted community is set at an elevation of 2,350 feet and is only a 30 minute drive from such popular destinations as Big Bear Lake and Mountain Resort.

Residents can enjoy the 36 holes of golf offered at the Sun Lakes Country Club, or take part in any of the activities offered through three clubhouses. Amenities include two fitness centers, indoor and outdoor pools, and sports courts for tennis, bocce, and pickleball. Billiards, game rooms, arts and crafts studios, a library, RV parking, multiple social clubs, and two community restaurants are also available.

5. Alegria – Set in Bernalillo, New Mexico, Alegria is ideally situated near the base of the Sandia Mountains on the banks of the Rio Grande. The culturally rich city of Bernalillo is the historical center of New Mexico and one of the oldest continually established settlements in North America, yet the bustling city of Albuquerque is only 15 minutes away.

On site, residents can enjoy activities offered through the 9,000- square- foot clubhouse. Such amenities include a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool, arts and crafts studio, game rooms, bocce and horseshoe courts, a library, and a computer center. The many social clubs at Alegria include the Book Club, Tuesday Morning Coffee, Movie Nights, Restaurant of the Month, and various card and hobby clubs.
