In Rio Verde, Arizona, Tonto Verde is an impressive golf community which welcomes homebuyers aged 55 or better. Developed between 1993 and 2009, Tonto Verde is a secluded golf community in the heart of Central Arizona. Its 613 homes were constructed by multiple builders in styles including both attached townhomes and detached single-family homes.

Residences

Tonto Verde’s 613 homes were designed by multiple builders and are now available on a resale basis. These residences include homes in many different styles, including townhomes and single-family designs, which range in size from 1,500 to over 4,000 square feet.

General homeowners’ association fees cover maintenance of the common areas and access to the clubhouse.Townhomes also have additional homeowners’ association fees which cover outside home maintenance, such as painting, landscaping, and irrigation.

 Tonto Verde’s prime Arizona location makes it a great retirement destination for both full-time residents and snowbirds. Approximately one-third of the homeowners live in the community year round, while most snowbirds stay in the community for about six to eight months out of the year.

Amenities

Appealing amenities include the 18-hole Peaks and Ranch Golf Courses which wind throughout the community, taking full advantage of the breathtaking mountain views. The 26,000 square-foot Tonto Verde clubhouse serves as the community’s central hub of social and recreational activity. This beautifully appointed facility offers plenty of room to socialize, such as the inviting Mesquite Bar & Grill and the elegant Cimarron Dining Room. There are also two ballrooms well-suited for a variety of special events.

The spacious clubhouse also makes it easy for residents to stay in shape with active pursuits. The state-of-the-art fitness center features a wide range of cardiovascular, strength-training, and flexibility equipment.

Outdoors, residents can swim in the heated, saltwater pool or enjoy six tennis courts and two pickleball courts.

Golf

Resident golfers can enjoy a membership at the acclaimed Tonto Verde Golf Club as well. This includes challenging play at two 18-hole championship courses: the Peaks Course and the Ranch Course. These courses were designed by David Grahm and Gary Panks to follow the natural course of the land while offering their own distinct challenges. A variety of golf memberships let residents choose the plan which best suits their needs.
