Located 25 miles south of Tampa, in Sun City Center, Kings Point is a gated active adult community that welcomes residents aged 55 or better. This well-established development first opened in 1973 and continued to grow and improve until it was completed in 2010. This long construction period has led to a diverse mix of homes, in addition to an exciting line-up of social and recreational amenities.

Kings Point is an independent community that is located in Sun City Center, Florida. Although Sun City Center is an age-restricted active adult community, it has also grown to become a self-sustained village. Sun City Center has no government, and volunteers run its management, however the village does offer its own retail centers, grocery stores, restaurants, banks, worship centers, a hospital and other services.

While Kings Point is located in Sun City Center, it has its own management, separate legal boundaries and different bylaws. In fact, the community has 5,277 attached villa condos, which are governed by over 100 different homeowners’ associations. The rules, regulations and monthly homeowners’ fees vary based on the association in which you live. Residents at Kings Point are just a short drive, or golf cart ride, from the many retail centers, banks and other public establishments in Sun City Center. However, Kings Point also offers residents their own exclusive clubhouses and recreational amenities.

Kings Point Clubhouse and Amenities

The 90,000 square-foot Kings Point Clubhouse is the main hub of community activity. Whether looking for fitness, social or cultural opportunities there is certainly something for everyone. Health-minded residents can make use of the exercise rooms, swimming pools and various sports courts. The many hobby and game rooms provide friendly competition and space for exploring personal interests.

The Kings Point Clubhouse also houses the Borini Theatre, a large venue for performances by well-known artists. In addition to the various amenities at Kings Point Clubhouse, the community also now offers even more through the South Clubhouse.

At 28,000 square feet, this second clubhouse has plenty of room for activities. There are hobby and game rooms, craft studios, a cyber cafe and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The South Clubhouse also offers a resort-style outdoor swimming pool and sports courts for volleyball, pickleball and basketball.

Resident golfers will also be delighted to learn that Kings Point also has three community golf courses. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the original Kings Point Executive Golf Course provides 18 holes of challenging play. The second course, Falcon Watch, offers a championship layout with three 9-hole courses for a total of 27 holes. The newest course, Specter, is located beside the South Clubhouse, giving the community another 18-hole championship golf course.

At Kings Point, homebuyers will discover a beautiful community with mature landscaping, exciting amenities and challenging golf courses. With the added benefits in Sun City Center, it’s easy to see why Kings Point appeals to many active adult retirees.
