Sun-City-Texas-Cowan-Creek-Activity-Center

Set just 35 miles north of Austin, Sun City Texas welcomes active adults aged 55+ with an exciting line-up of amenities, elegant homes, and three spectacular 18-hole golf courses. This resort-style oasis appeals to diverse active adults with plans for 7,500 homes in a wide range of styles, sizes, and prices.

Opened in 1995, by Del Webb, Sun City Texas is built on 5,300 rolling acres and is highlighted by three championship golf courses. Its location in Georgetown provides small-town charm, as well as close proximity to all the attractions found in Austin. The community is also just two hours from San Antonio and within three hours of both Dallas and Houston.

Amenities

Sun City Texas provides an impressive array of amenities spread across multiple facilities, including the Cowan Creek Amenity Center, the Village Center and the Arts and Crafts Center. These beautifully appointed clubhouses offer plenty of places to gather for special-interest club meetings, community events, or more informal socializing with friends.

Community amenities include multipurpose meeting rooms, a grand ballroom with a dance floor and stage, a billiards room, a library, and a computer lab. Artists and hobbyists can enjoy several studios designed to support arts such as sewing, painting, woodworking, stained glass, fine china and jewelry making. There is also an on-site restaurant, Sparky’s, for casually-elegant dining.

Recreation

Sun City Texas makes it easy for residents to stay in shape with both indoor facilities and outdoor recreations. The 20,000 square-foot fitness center boasts state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, an indoor lap pool and spa, and an indoor walking track. Aerobics and dance studios offer group fitness classes such as low-impact aerobics, yoga, and Pilates.

Residents can also stay active outdoors with a beach-entry swimming pool, a softball field and sports courts for tennis, bocce ball, and pickleball. Resident golfers particularly love having access to Sun City Texas’ three 18-hole championship golf courses: Legacy Hills, designed by Hall of Famer Billy Casper and architect Greg Nash; the challenging White Wing course; and the most recently added Cowan Creek course.

The beautiful grounds at Sun City Texas include picnic areas including the 5,000 square-foot Legacy Hill Pavilion, which is the site of many community events. Nine miles of walking and biking trails wind throughout the community and visiting grandkids will love a trip to the playground. The grounds also feature gardening plots and dog parks.

Residences

Residences in Sun City Texas include both single-family and attached homes. The first homes were built in 1995 and today’s homebuyers have their choice of available resale and new construction homes. During the community’s development, Del Webb has offered homes with many different floor plans. Most homes are built with two or three bedrooms, though larger models may have an additional den or fourth bedroom.
