With 100 acres of preserved wetlands safe from future development, this age-restricted community will maintain its serene ambiance. Heritage in the Hills is a fun active adult environment for those aged 55 and better who desire a home that leaves them time to enjoy life.

Heritage in the Hills has a homeowners' association that makes for a well-run community. The dues include lawn mowing, snow removal services and maintenance of the attractive common areas. In addition, security is maintained via a 24-hour gated entrance, and the neighborhood is pedestrian-friendly with wide sidewalks and well-lit streets.

Heritage in the Hills Amenities

A 7,000 square-foot clubhouse functions as the hub of Heritage in the Hills. Residents have a fitness center at their disposal and can also relax over a game of billiards or cards.

Heritage in the Hills provides an outdoor pool behind the clubhouse for keeping in shape and healthy. There is a hot tub as well for resting after workouts and for socializing and enjoying the outdoors. A tennis court, bocce ball area and putting green beckon, and the community contains many walking trails.

Development of Heritage in the Hills began in 1999 and upon completion had 281 homesites. Since all sites have been completed, assorted resale inventory is up for purchase as it becomes available. A full-time activities director manages a calendar of activities on location year round. Residents of Heritage in the Hills enjoy a country club lifestyle in the Midwest with fauna and flora that delights at any season of the year. The community is very active with multi-interest programs that provide recreation of all levels. Activities include bingo, sewing groups, crafts, ceramics, book discussions, exercise classes, water aerobics and swimming. Residents also regularly come together for bridge, euchre, pinochle and poker. The activities director organizes day trips as well as movie and theater outings by utilizing its 14-passenger bus. In addition, residents can participate in regularly scheduled tennis competitions. This active adult resort community has an online newsletter that lists all activities.


Located in Auburn Hills, Michigan just north of the Oakland University, Heritage in the Hills is within proximity of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, cultural opportunities and medical facilities. A popular shopping destination for residents is Great Lakes Crossing. Notable areas of interest to take in performances include Callahan's Music Hall and DTE Energy Music Theater. Other popular venues in the area are the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Walter P. Chrysler Museum and the Cranbrook Institute of Science. Cities within a 20-mile radius include Pontiac, Rochester, Troy, Oak Park, Sterling Heights, Southfield and Farmington Hills. For farther travel there is the Flint Airport and Detroit Meetro Airport within an hours' drive.
