Bonita Springs is on Florida’s southern Gulf coast near Naples. It has picturesque beaches as well as wild and natural state parks and county preserves. There’s also lots of golf, shopping, and cultural attractions, making it an ideal place to plan a Florida retirement.

Buyers looking for Bonita Springs real estate have a lot of options, but many homes for sale can be on the pricey side. If you’re on a budget and you want a planned community with a lot of value and a low price tag, consider some of these active adult communities that are welcoming and affordable.

1. Pelican Landing

Just because you can spend a few million on a house at Pelican Landing doesn’t mean you have to. This active adult community also has some spacious and affordable condos, villas, and attached coach homes.

Amenities include the Pelican’s Nest Golf Club, where memberships are available, and the Pelican Landing Tennis Center, where any resident can play. There’s also a beach area and access to a creek and Estero Bay for residents who enjoy kayaking or canoeing. With sailing facilities, pickleball courts, outdoor pools, and access to nature preserves, outdoor living is embraced at Pelican Landing. It’s an environmentally conscious community surrounded by wetlands and cypress hammocks.

Buyers can find resale condos from 1,300 to 2,000 square feet with views of the golf course or gardens. High-rise condos and garden units are available. Coach homes offer two-story living, and the attached villas are on one level. Both models include attached two-car garages and between 1,300 and 1,800 square feet.

One of the most affordable 55+ communities in Bonita Springs is Carousel Cove at Bonita Fairways, which is an intimate community of only 105 single-family homes. It’s part of the master-planned Bonita Fairways development, offering golf course living for budget-minded buyers.

There’s an 18-hole executive golf course designed by Gordon Lewis as well as a driving range, a pro shop, and a putting green. The clubhouse at Carousel Cove also includes a fitness center, a game room, a billiards center, a catering kitchen, and a library. Residents can enjoy the pool as well as the shuffleboard, tennis, and bocce ball courts.

Homes are available on a resale basis, and they range from 865 to 2,152 square feet. There are two- and three-bedroom models with two bathrooms and an attached two-car garage. Buyers can select a home with a private pool in the backyard or other features like vaulted ceilings, new kitchen appliances, or screened backyard space.
