Celebration is an award-winning community by The Celebration Company (Disney). While not age-restricted, older adults seeking a flexible country club lifestyle with quick and easy access to Disney amenities will find Celebration very appealing. Although located in Florida, this community does not have a typical Florida look or feel to it. Instead, Celebration has the ambiance of a mid-century New England or Midwest town.
The exteriors of the Celebration homes are a blend of traditional Southeastern, while floor plans and interiors are designed for modern tastes and lifestyles. The multitude of residences have a large variety of sizes and finishes - from cozy, inexpensive condos to high-end single family mansions and everything in between. Despite the 4,000 plus homes, Celebration has a neighborly feel to it as the residences sit on small lots and are close together.
Celebration Amenities
The clubhouse has a fitness center, outdoor pools, tennis facilities, bocce ball, softball and basketball courts, and a playground for kids. Plenty of parks and natural space surround the grounds. Residents will find shops, restaurants, a movie theater and other commercial establishments at the Celebration town center. There are additional restaurants in the Water Tower shopping mall. A popular feature is the 18-hole Celebration Golf Course, complete with pro shop. Designed by Robert Trent Sr. and Robert Trent Jr., this par-72 course is great for players of all skill levels.
Celebration Homes & Real Estate
The last of the five construction phases was completed in 2007, approximately 10 years after the first residents moved in. A broad mix of building styles - including condominiums and townhouses as well as terrace, bungalow, garden, cottages, village, manor and estate houses - make Celebration appealing to a large variety of home buyers. Inexpensive condos start at 600 square feet and go up to 2,150 square feet in size, while single family homes start at 1,300 square feet. Large 8,000 plus square feet mansions go for several million dollars. Condos have the highest association dues, while single family home owners pay the lowest amount, regardless of square footage. Most homes have welcoming front porches and rear access to the garage by means of a service alley.
Celebration Lifestyle
Celebration is the perfect community for the young at heart who want to enjoy the Disney lifestyle and like to visit the parks regularly. However, there is much more to do in this community. Celebration hosts annual Fourth of July fireworks celebrations, an Oktoberfest celebration, as well as downtown events for the fall and Christmas seasons. In addition, there are community wide yard sales, an art show, the Great American Pie Festival, an exotic car festival, a Posh Pooch Festival, a Walt Disney World liquidation sale, and an annual Radio Disney Holiday concert.
Area
Celebration is located in northwest Osceola County, Florida adjacent to Interstate 4 and south of U.S. 192. While it offers quick and easy access to all the Disney amenities, it lacks the tourist-like feel and is instead a pleasant oasis in the middle of Disney World and Kissimmee. There are numerous outlet malls within a short driving distance of Celebration. It is only a 20 minute drive to Orlando International Airport and another ten minutes to downtown Orlando. When residents want a change from theme and water parks, Orlando offers a lot of other options. The Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Lake Ivanhoe, Fort Gatlin Recreation Complex, Lake Jesup, Moss Park, Orlando Science Center, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and Loch Haven Park are just a few of the numerous attractions available.
