Wynmoor Village
Living in Wynmoor is like living in a 4-5 star resort. The manicured grounds give us beautiful views out of any window. Residents are friendly and welcoming. The list of activities offered is comprehensive and really impressive. Joining clubs and activities gave us an easy way to make new friends when we moved here as new year-round residents. Pre-Covid, the weekly live shows and movies in the theater along with group trips and free bus service to shopping and restaurants gave us the active lifestyle we were looking for. The layouts of the condos themselves is very well thought out. The units are spacious with an open feeling. We are so happy we chose Wynmoor.
Great place to live and or retire. Everything is close by. Amenities are numerous and easy to access. Maintenance is a bit high-about $500/month. Real estate prices have become high recently but will probably return to ‘normal’ eventually. Most neighbors are friendly. Administration can be a problem at times but not much worse than most other communities. Parking can be a problem if you have more than one car. Buildings are older and are frequently in need of maintenance. The community is very well maintained in general and has great curb appeal. The community is not supposed to be pet friendly but there are many emotional support dogs and service dogs here. Dog park is 1 mile away. Great place for people who like urban living and don’t need a lot of open spaces and prefer condo living over private home living.
Wynmoor may have great amenities but they cut down the beautiful shade trees that blocked the afternoon/evening direct sunlight. Electric bills will surely increase. The trees were a source of oxygen and prettier to look at than a street full of traffic with tons of exhaust and people loitering at all hours. What’s worse is that the burglaries decreased once the trees were above the wall (no one wants to climb through and get cut) but now there’s numerous spaces to crawl through allowing more burglaries. Hot and sweaty now from the afternoon sun beating down on our homes. Looks like a prison with the new bars placed on top of “the wall”. What’s worse is that nothing was posted to give residents a chance to vote. They just did it! Not worth the money you pay for maintenance. Our elevators are down 3-6 weeks at a time. The rain rusts out the elevator flooring. No overhead protection. People have been stuck in them numerous times. Amenities should not be above safety!!
Wynmoor is the best adult community to live in south Florida. It is very well managed,
it is very well taken care of. Nothing gets neglected here. The council and the building directors are working hard to maintain the grounds and buildings. It has great amenities for everyone. It has a lot of clubs to choose from, sports (tennis, golf, pickle ball, gym, variety of swimming pools and more), book club, camera club, nature club, current events club, art, photography and soooo many more clubs, that in fact, you do not have to leave this beautiful place to stay busy 24/7. You cannot get bored in our beautiful community, and if you do, it’s because of you.
If you do not have a car, there is a bus, to pick you up and bring you back.
We have great shows in our theater, for a fraction of the price you pay elsewhere.
We get to watch all the latest movies.
A lot of free classes for you (aerobics; Zumba; toning & stretch; aquatic exercises ); We have bridge, Canasta, Mahjongg, rummy cube; shuffle board; beautiful billiard room; we also dance in our ballroom and have parties.
It is a beautiful place to place to live and stay alive and active. We bought it because of all the above, and mainly because it was a non-pet community.
If you are a good and considerate neighbor, you will enjoy this place tremendously.
