Set in the low desert of Maricopa, Arizona, Province is a fabulous development which, in 2006, was voted the best active adult community in the U.S. by the National Association of Home Builders. Interested homebuyers are sure to be impressed by Province’s resort-style amenities, lush landscaping, 50-acre lake, and diverse homes. The community is also just 38 miles from Phoenix, providing both scenic living and easy access to more urban attractions.

Province was opened in 2004, by Engle Homes, and acquired four years later by Meritage Homes. Today, the guard-gated development includes both single-family and attached homes, which are available on a resale or new construction basis. Upon completion, Province is expected to include 2,217 homes.

Amenities

At the heart of the community, Province’s elegant clubhouse is surrounded on three sides by a scenic, 50-acre lake. This 32,000-square-foot facility provides an impressive line-up of indoor and outdoor amenities. Spacious social areas include the clubhouse lounge, a sunny cafe, cards and billiards rooms, a well-stocked library, and a multi-purpose ballroom. Residents can also learn something new in the computer lab or express their creativity in the arts and crafts studio, ceramics studio, or sewing studio.

The clubhouse is also home to Province’s state-of-the-art fitness center. This large facility includes cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, as well as spin bikes and an aerobics and dance studio. Those who prefer water-based exercise can also stay fit by swimming laps in the indoor pool.

Outdoors, the amenities continue with a resort-style swimming pool and sports courts for tennis, pickleball, basketball, and bocce. A beautifully landscaped patio overlooks the lake, offering the perfect place for social gatherings or group activities, while an amphitheater provides space for a number of outdoor events. The grounds also feature miles of walking and biking trails, as well as 125 acres of parks and open natural space.

Residences

Homes within Province are available in a wide variety of styles and sizes. Single-family and attached designs originally built by Engle Homes are now only available on a resale basis. These include 190 villas and a number of single-family homes. Villas range from 1,172 to 1,702 square feet and may include one to three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a two-car garage.

Single-family homes designed by Engle Homes were offered in three collections: Province Villages, Province Traditions, and Province Estates. Depending on the model, these homes may include two to four bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half bathrooms and a two- to three-and-a-half-car garage. They typically range from 1,487 to over 2,800 square feet.

Homes designed by Meritage Homes are now available on either a resale or new construction basis. They are also available in three collections: Verdana, Vista, and Pinnacle. Homes throughout these collections offer diverse floor plans with sizes ranging from 1,214 to just over 2,400 square feet. Models may include two or three bedrooms, separate dens, two full bathrooms and a two- or three-car garage.
