Looking for the serenity of a gated community? Check out these Raleigh area options.

There are many pros to living in a gated community, including less traffic and the added security that can offer residents constant peace of mind. Fortunately, for active adults looking to move to North Carolina’s Raleigh and Durham area there are several good options to choose from.

Here are five popular gated communities situated in the Raleigh-Durham area:

Encore at Briar Chapel – Chapel Hill

Low $300s – High $400s

Encore at Briar Chapel is part of the larger master-planned community Briar Chapel. It is a small gated and age-restricted neighborhood that will only have 185 single-family homes upon completion.

The community has 10 different floor plans for buyers to choose between. Sizes range from 1,591 to 3,127 square feet in living space.

Encore’s list of amenities include, but are not limited to, a 3,100 square-foot clubhouse, fitness center, dog park, outdoor pool and patio, plus, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. Additionally, there are 24 miles of walking and biking trails spread throughout the property that pass by scenic lakes and ponds.

Homeowners also access to The Briar Club, which has an exercise room, aerobics and dance studio, social room, multiple tools, numerous athletic courts, a community garden, and 900 acres of parks and green spaces.

The Enclave at Hidden Lake – Youngsville

Low $300s – High $300s

Eastwood Homes began construction on this gated, age-restricted community in 2018. Once completed. The Enclave at Hidden Lake will feature 138 new single-family homes.

Potential buyers have four different home models to choose between that range from 1,738 to more than 2,020 square feet. Models can have two to five bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and attached two-car garages. A number of enviable homesites will even have views of the 75-acre lake.

The  community will have several amenities for residents to take advantage of, including a clubhouse, fitness center, multi-purpose spaces, and a warming kitchen. Outdoors, homeowners can look forward to the development’s pool, patio, pickleball court, and the scenic lake.

Evergreen at Flowers Plantation – Clayton

High $200s – Low $300s

As part of the master-planned Flowers Plantation community, Evergreen at Flowers Plantation has a lot to offer active adults looking for North Carolina real estate in a gated community. Upon completion, it will feature 113 new single family homes.

Potential homebuyers will be able to choose between several different floor plans that range from 1,716 square feet to 2,897 square feet of living space. Residents will get to enjoy the freedom of a low-maintenance lifestyle with homeowners’ association fees taking care of yard maintenance.

Homeowners can also spend a leisurely day outside in one of the neighborhood’s many parks, by walking or biking along one of the trails, or enjoying a picnic lunch in the picnic area.
