We then broke down each area by how many single or unmarried people made up the total population. Additionally, we added a median price to income ratio from the census data to target areas where you can reasonably afford a home. From that data, we curated a final list of areas listed on 55places.com.

Topping our list of the best places for singles to retire in Texas is Galveston, or The Oleander City, named for the area’s abundant oleander plants. This island city offers singles endless recreation opportunities both on and off the water. Active adults can go boating and fishing or enjoy the city’s many festivals and events. Mardi Gras!
