Continental Ranch Sunflower is a Del Webb community in Marana, AZ 15 miles northwest of Tucson. A portion of the community’s golf course was built into an old rock quarry which provides a golf experience like no other. Residents cherish the community’s intimate atmosphere, active lifestyle and proximity to Tucson and I-10.

Continental Ranch Sunflower provides the perfect blend of a full-scale active adult community combined with a good location near downtown Tucson. Unlike some of Del Webb’s larger active adult communities in Arizona, Continental Ranch Sunflower was designed for retirees who want an active lifestyle in a smaller setting.

Ideally situated on the west side of I-10, residents of Continental Ranch Sunflower can access the heart of downtown Tucson and its surrounding attractions in 20 minutes. Additionally, Phoenix is accessible in less than two hours.

Continental Ranch Sunflower Amenities

The Continental Ranch master planned community includes other family-friendly neighborhoods. However, only residents of the 967 home age-restricted Sunflower neighborhood are allowed access to the private community clubhouse and fitness complex. The clubhouse acts as the hub for all leisure and social activity in the community. It hosts a generous assortment of amenities including a fitness center, aerobics studio, hobby and craft rooms, library and billiard tables. Outside, residents enjoy a pool, walking and biking trails, tennis courts, bocce ball courts, horseshoe pits and a putting green.

Golf enthusiasts enjoy one of Arizona’s most exciting golf experiences at the state’s only quarry golf course. After the rock quarry adjacent to the Continental Ranch golf course was abandoned in 2000, the Town of Marana and the golf course owner agreed on a plan to reclaim the quarry. Ten of the holes were relocated into the quarry and the other eight holes were reconfigured. Now, the course is highlighted by dramatic elevation changes, unique desert landscape and thousands of new trees.

For non-golfers, the mountains surrounding Tucson provide the perfect retreat for hiking, mountain biking, skiing and camping. 16 miles south of Continental Ranch Sunflower is the Tucson Mountain County Park where 4,600-foot peaks are ideal for short hikes and relaxing picnics. Plus, 14 miles to the east the 1.78 million-acre Coronado National Forest is bountiful with recreational opportunities.

Del Webb constructed Continental Ranch Sunflower between 1998 and 2002. A variety of pre-owned resale homes are continually available for sale. Home buyers can select from ten different single-family floor plans that range in size from 1,100 to nearly 2,000 square feet. All homes feature 2 to 3 bedrooms and 2-car garages.
