GlenLakes is a private, 18-hole golf course featuring challenging play with numerous water features.

Even other active adult communities in Florida can’t compare to GlenLakes Country Club, nestled on 1,400 acres of Florida’s Nature Coast. It has pleasing grounds which include the beauty of clear lakes, towering pines and ancient oaks. Although this gated community is open to residents of all ages, it’s similar to other active adult communities because residents will feel right at home with its private championship golf course, spacious clubhouse and homes in a wide range of styles, sizes and prices. In fact, GlenLakes has been cited by Where to Retire magazine as one of America’s Best 50 Master Planned Communities.

GlenLakes Country Club opened its doors in 1995 and development is still underway with plans to eventually include approximately 1,500 homes. Current homebuyers can choose from available resale and new construction homes in designs created by a variety of builders, including: Addison Homes Ltd, Alexander Homes, Palmwood Builders and Arthur Rutenberg Homes.

Although some active adult communities in Florida have been developed faster, the GlenLakes community’s long development period and use of multiple builders has helped create a diverse setting with homes spread across distinct villages. Homebuyers can choose the lifestyle that appeals to them the most. There are maintenance-free homes in each village, as well as premium homesites which border nature preserves, scenic lakes and the community’s own private, championship golf course.

Designed by Ron Garl, the 18-hole GlenLakes golf course winds throughout the community with tree-lined fairways and multiple tees to accommodate golfers of any skill level. Resident golfers can also brush up their skills with the golf practice facilities or enjoy a post-game lunch at the casually elegant 19th Hole Grille.

Beyond golf, GlenLakes, like other active adult communities, provides a spacious clubhouse which offers plenty of amenities to support an active adult lifestyle. This 35,000 square-foot facility is the perfect place for community events, social club meetings and informal gatherings. Residents can enjoy a range of amenities including an arts and crafts studio, a demonstration kitchen, a game room and a billiards room. They can also stay in shape at the fitness center which includes cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, as well as a separate aerobics studio.

Just outside of the clubhouse, GlenLakes residents can cool off in the swimming pool, relax in the whirlpool spa or soak up some sun poolside. Sports courts offer outdoor recreation with activities like tennis and bocce ball.

While GlenLakes Country Club offers plenty of on-site recreations, residents can also enjoy exploring the quiet charm of Weeki Wachee or exciting attractions throughout the Tampa area. The community is within easy access of shops, restaurants and beautiful beaches along Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Although it is open to residents of all ages, it is easy to see why active adult homebuyers are drawn to the fabulous amenities and beautiful homes at GlenLakes Country Club.
