Lakes of DelrayDelray Beach, FL

Below $100k – Mid $200s

An active and socially thriving condo community with homes for less than $200,000 can be found at Lakes of Delray in Delray Beach. The neighborhood is gated and restricted to 55+ residents. There are 1,400 condo homes in two- and three-story buildings.

Buyers can find units with 800 to 1,500 square feet, one or two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and plenty of parking. If upgrades are important, there are plenty of available resale homes with granite counters, energy-efficient appliances, and ceramic tile or marble floors.

The clubhouse has some impressive amenities, starting with the exercise room, saunas, and conference rooms. There’s plenty of space for meetings and club activities in addition to a library, a billiards room, and a ceramics studio. Residents can enjoy outdoor pools, shuffleboard courts, tennis, and a golf driving net. There’s also community transit for residents who don’t feel like driving and a car wash area for residents who do. Some of the most popular clubs include AARP, the fishing club, and a snowbird group.

Coral LakesBoynton Beach, FL

High $100s – Low $400s

Coral Lakes in Boynton Beach is a 55+ community that offers luxury living, but there are also condos and attached homes with price tags falling below $200,000. A full-time activities director keeps residents active; there are acting classes, movie nights, yoga classes, and clubs for things like travel, cooking, fishing, and dancing. Seasonal residents have their own club as well, and active adult buyers looking for homes for sale in Boynton Beach will want to check out the resale properties available at Coral Lakes.

Two neighborhoods are dedicated to condos: Coral Cove and Regal Shores have two- and four-story buildings with reserved parking, security, and elevators. Homes are spacious with 1,509 to 1,869 square feet, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a den. The Regal Shores neighborhood is a collection of two-story and four-story condo buildings. Larger and more expensive villas, coach homes, and single-family estates are also available.

Residents enjoy amenities such as a large clubhouse, a fitness center, an indoor pool, a cafe and lounge, a library, paddleball courts, and outdoor pools.

Whisper WalkBoca Raton, FL

Below $100k – High $200s

Boca Raton homes for sale are always in demand, and one of the most affordable 55+ communities in the area is Whisper Walk. Dozens of resale attached villas are available for less than $200,000, and buyers won’t have to sacrifice space, amenities, or location. This community has everything from pools to tennis courts to pickleball and shuffleboard courts, and there are five clubhouses. There’s also a fitness center and a tendency for residents to get together for picnics, pool parties, and shuffleboard tournaments.

Homes offer 1,000 to 1,667 square feet, two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an attached one-car garage. Screened balconies provide a view of the community’s ponds or even the decorative gazebo. Boca is a great city for shopping, fine dining, beachgoing, and golf. Whisper Walk is close to some of the area’s best golf courses, such as Boca Raton Golf Club. Fishing and boating opportunities are also just minutes away.

Coral Ridge TowersFort Lauderdale, FL

Low $100s – Mid $300s

Buyers who want waterfront views in the middle of a lively city like Fort Lauderdale should consider Coral Ridge Towers. This 55+ condo community is a collection of high-rise condo buildings with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Condos in this community come in a variety of sizes and floor plans. Studios offer 500 square feet, and there are also resale homes with between 800 and 1,400 square feet, one to three bedrooms, and one or two bathrooms. Elevators are available in 16 secure buildings, and there are patios and balconies with each condo home.

Located throughout the community, four amenity centers offer fitness centers, community rooms, card areas, and exercise rooms. Each amenity center has an outdoor pool and patio as well as shuffleboard, bocce ball, and storage for bikes. There are also libraries and meeting spaces. Pool parties, community brunches, and holiday events are frequent. There’s also live music every Friday night as well as planned day trips and art walks in Fort Lauderdale.
